Vant closed the kitchen cabinet sitting the glass cup down on the marble cabinets. Opening the stainless steel fridge he pulled out some orange juice and poured it in the glass. Vant had ordered some Chinese food from one of his favorite local restaurants and hoped that Liv wasn't a picky eater. He hoped the orange juice and ibuprofen 600 he already had sitting on the table would make her feel better, even if it was just a little bit. His phone vibrated in his pockets and he pulled it out his jean pockets glancing at the text from Halle. In the back of his mind he knew she wasn't gone chill until he paid her ass a visit.

Halle: Damn baby what's up?

Vant: Ima get with you

When he was finished replying to the text he quickly glanced at the time. His face scrunched up when he realized about how long Liv was actually in the bathroom and decided he would go check up on her. Recovering addicts where not to be trusted without supervision for too long and he took that into consideration regardless of how bad it sounded. Vant had to make sure she was straight she was vulnerable right now. Once he reached the bathroom door he knocked twice waiting for a response.

"Yo shorty you good? Been in there for a lil while just checking up on you, I got some food out here waiting for you". Vant said loud enough for her to hear through the wooden door. Silence. This time Vant knocked more aggressively, there was no way in hell she wasn't able to hear him. After a few attempts and no response Vant knew something wasn't right. When he turned the knob the door was locked. Fuck he thought knowing he was gone have to kick his door down. His pops was not going to appreciate that but it is what it is he had to get in there now he would throw his pops some paper later.

Vant stepped back a little to gain more strength, then used all his weight to bust the bathroom door open. Instantly his face flushed into a panic as he took in the sight before him. Liv was floating in the water unresponsive. Quickly he jumped into the jaquzi tub and picked her up out of the water. "Damn little mama what did you do? Fuck man"!!

Vant screamed placing her on the floor and doing the only thing he could think of doing. He pressed on her chest, pinched her nose and blew into her mouth repeatedly. Not being CPR certified or even taking a class he wasn't sure if he was doing it right. The only time he seen it being done was on movies. Never in his life had he ever felt so uneducated until this very moment "Come on Liv breathe, come on" Vant screamed vigorously waiting for some type of sign that she was ok. It wasn't her time yet, she was so young, so innocent and regardless of how fucked up she thought her life was. Vant saw something so much better for her, he just wanted her to see what he visioned but she had to be alive and in the flesh to do so. Picking up the pace in pumps and mouth to mouth he was losing faith with every minute that went by. Fuck, I should have checked on her sooner. I should have never brought her here. Damn man this shit my fault Vant thought on the verge of breaking down. Vant was a young man that usually thought everything completely through and he cursed himself for being so careless.
After what seemed to be a little over five minutes Vant heard the deepest grasp of air, soon after Liv was coughing up water. Vant closed his eyes and rested on his knees. Calming hisself down he got up and pulled a towel down off the rack and covered Liv up. Looking directly in her eyes he said "That was real fucking selfish, don't ever do that shit again. You not weak shorty, you're the strongest little person I know. Ima stand out here with the door open to let you get dressed, please don't do that again". He walked out leaving Liv to herself and without the opportunity to respond.

The remainder of the night was quiet. Vant didn't say much of anything to Liv and neither did she. Liv hadn't thought about the consequences of her suicide attempt not working and now she was even more lost then she was before. On top of that Liv was experiencing guilt which was a first. She had never had done anything to feel guilty about. The look on Vants face when she took her first breathe of air was unforgettable. He looked afraid, hurt, worried and as if he genuinely cared. Unbeknownst to Liv she somehow felt as if she let him down and by the quiet treatment that Vant was giving she was very aware that she did. After about a few hours of starring into the TV but not really watching it Vant got up from the kitchen table that he was sitting at and pushed his chair in.
