Sehun
Sehun arrived at Kai's apartment a few minutes earlier than the alotted time. He was nervous about what Kai had to say. Ever since Eunji had told him about what Kai said to her, Sehun was a little apprehensive about his friend. But, all the same, Sehun was hoping that what Kai had to say tonight was that he was sorry. Sehun hoped that Kai had seen the error of his ways and was going to apologize about being so rude to Eunji.
"Sehun, thanks for coming." Kai answered the door and Sehun instantly knew there was something wrong. Kai was usually like Sehun, calm and collected. But now, Kai seemed a little flustered and nervous. Was whatever he had to say that important?
Sehun followed Kai into his apartment and sat on his couch. Kai handed Sehun a beer which he took gingerly and sipped at as he waited for his friend to say something.
"So this is really awkward," Kai half laughed uncomfortably.
"You know you can tell me anything," Sehun comforted, "you're my friend."
"Yeah." Kai nodded and downed almost half his beer in a single gulp.
They sat there for a moment longer. Sehun watched his friend carefully, trying to descern what it could possibly be that was bothering him so much.
"I," Kai started, "Sehun, you're really important to me."
"Yeah?" Sehun's brow furrowed.
"And I don't want to lose you as a friend..." Kai trailed off, looking up at Sehun with burning eyes.
"What is it?" Sehun was starting to get worried now.
"I don't want to lose you as a friend, but..." Kai stopped talking and started to lean forward, closing the gap between him and Sehun.
Sehun was completely beside himself, but was able to react fast enough to put a hand between the two of them before Kai's lips could reach his. Kai opened his eyes when he realized that his lips connected with something that was not Sehun's lips and instantly pulled back. Sehun stared at his friend, shocked and at a loss of words.
"Sorry, I just." Kai turned away. "I've had these feelings for a long time and I just thought that..."
"Hey, it's fine," Sehun comforted, "I just don't see you in that way. Besides, I have Eunji."
Sehun noticed that Kai's eyes darkened at the mention of Eunji, and he finally put together the reason that his friend despised his girlfriend. What he couldn't understand was why wait this long? The way Kai spoke, it was as if he had had these feelings all the way in high school. If that were the case, why hadn't he spoken up then? And why would he confess now when he knew that Sehun and Eunji had been together for a year?
"Would you go to the bar with me? Like old times?" Kai asked after an awkwardly long period of silence.
"I don't know," Sehun said uncertainly.
"I just want to act like this didn't happen and that we're friends just like we were in high school," Kai pleaded.
"...okay," Sehun agreed after a moment of deliberation.
Kai seemed slightly elated by this answer and got up quickly. Sehun made sure to tell Eunji that he was going out with Kai and where they were going. He also told her that he would explain all that happened when he got back that night. With that, the two of them left to the bar.

Luhan
Luhan entered the dark space of the bar and instantly saw where Kai and Sehun were lounging. A few minutes ago, Eunji had texted Luhan and told him that Sehun was going out with Kai for drinks and she was a little worried. She said that Sehun's text seemed a little too vague and that, with Kai involved, she couldn't be too safe. And so, Luhan volunteered to keep an eye on Kai.
At the moment, they were just drinking and talking. Although they seemed just a tad awkward, there was nothing suspicious going on that Luhan could tell. Sehun did seem to be getting uncharacteristicly drunk off of his one drink, however. Sehun had always been good at holding his liquor down, but something wasn't right. All he had had was half of a beer and he was already tipsy. Sehun looked like he wanted to stop drinking, realizing his drunkeness, but Kai urged him otherwise.
Luhan wanted desperately to intervene, but he couldn't risk getting seen and them asking why he was there. All he could do was watch as Kai got Luhan shitfaced. Luhan wondered what Kai could possibly be doing to persuade Sehun to keep drinking. Sehun seemed to try and stop drinking several times, but Kai would say something and Sehun would continue to drink. After a while, it became clear that Sehun was completely gone and Kai seemed happy with this.
It was at this moment that, unfortunately, Luhan realized he really had to go to the bathroom. He contemplated his dillema for a moment, before deciding that not much could happen in a minute and that Sehun would be fine. Luhan hurried to the bathroom, praying that Kai wouldn't pull anything in his absence. When Luhan returned, however, the two of them were nowhere in sight.
"Looking for me?" Luhan shivered at Kai's whisper in his ear.
"Where's Sehun?" Luhan asked when he noticed his friend was not with Kai.
"He was a little too drunk, so I sent a girl home with him. She'll take good care of him." Kai shrugged.
"You what?" Luhan's voice was a little too loud, but he couldn't be bothered to care. "How the hell did he get so drunk off of one drink?"
"I might've added a little something extra when he wasn't looking." Kai smirked.
"You roofied him?" Luhan grabbed Kai's collar roughly. "He's your friend what the fuck is wrong with you?"
"If I can't have him, no one can," Kai answered. Deep in his eyes, Luhan could tell that he was hurt, but his actions couldn't be dismissed just because of that.
"You're a fucking psychopath!" Luhan shoved Kai away from him and into a wall. "How could you do that to your friend? Couldn't you see how happy he was with Eunji? He was finally learning love and you screwed him over because of it. I don't know what your feelings for him are, but if you loved him as a friend or otherwise, you wouldn't have done what you have. You're no friend of his. You're just the old friend from his past that he left behind and you're upset about it."
At that point, Kai lunged forward, a look of craziness in his eyes, and swung at Luhan. Luhan quickly dodged to the side and let Kai barrel forward towards a crowd of people. They were attracting a bit of a crowd now that Kai was going for another punch. Luhan quickly ducked out of the way and let his fist connect with Kai's stomach, sending the latter a few steps back. Kai went to swing again, but was knocked off course when Luhan punched him in the face. Luhan continued to let his fists fly, infuriated that Kai had pulled such a stunt on his best friend, until security broke them up and sent them both out of the bar.
Once outside, Luhan was too tired to continue his assault on Kai. Kai clearly had taken enough of a beating, and sauntered off towards his home. Luhan could feel a bruise starting to form on his face where Kai had managed to get a good hit in. He was so angry with himself that he wasn't there to stop it. Now, Sehun was home with some random girl and Luhan could only hope that he had enough sense to know not to cheat on Eunji.
"Please, Sehun," Luhan pleaded to the night sky, "don't mess this up."
