-Riku's POV-
It was Xehanort and I within the barrier. I couldn't forgive him for what he did to Mirra.... That bastard is going down! I know I lose to him sometimes, but this time, it will be different. I swear.
"Come." Xehanort taunts me as if I wasn't going to do anything. Without hesitation, I charge towards him. Just as I was about to land a hit on him, he disappears, and I can feel a strike of pain on my back.
"GAH!"
"Humph. You never seem to learn, Riku. A foolhardy boy like you is easy to defeat. I owe all my power to my grandfather, for he has taught me so much."
"Damn you!" I charge at him again, and slash the air, sending shockwaves of dark energy at him. He blocks, and next thing I knew, he was right in front of me, and our weapons were locked in a struggle. As I attempt to push him away, I can feel a surge rise over me. I woke up, unaware of what just happened... My body was badly damaged...
"Ugh... My head.."
"Riku!"
"Huh? Mirra, what happened?"
"Xehanort used his Time on you. You were frozen in place while he endlessly beated your body... I was scared..."
"What?!"
"You heard the girl. It was fun." He just lounged there, smirking. "I was expecting you done for, but it seems that you gained more durability than last time."
I struggle to get up. I look at my arms. They were seeping with blood. I felt weak and dizzy. I couldn't do anything. I'm going to lose again... I'm sorry, Mirra...
"Alright, then. Time to end this. The both of you." He saunters casually towards me, blade in hand. "Once again, Riku. I win." I close my eyes as soon as he raises the blade to finish me off....
After a while, all I can hear was the sounds of struggle. I opened my eyes and Xehanort wrestling Mirra, and it looks like she's winning. Wow, for a cute girl, she has a tough heart.
"Riku, are you okay?"
"Uh, yeah! Sort of..." I cringe. My wounds stinged a lot, and I could barely move.
"Don't worry!" She manages to knock Xehanort away, stunning him. "12 Heavenly Signs of the Night Sky... I ask you to lend me your power... Sign of the Maiden, heal my lover! Virgo!" A golden light washes over me, and the astrological sign of Virgo appears under my feet. All at once, my wounds and the pain they carried faded away, and my fatigue just disappeared.
"Thanks Mirra. I owe you one."
"Mm. No problem, Riku. Now, finished what yo- AUGH!" Out of nowhere, Xehanort stabs her, and she falls unconcious.
"Annoying beauty..." He throws her almost lifeless body out to the side. "What baffles me the most is how she managed to break through the barrier. But, I can ponder later." He begins slashing at me, but the power Mirra bestowed boosted my attacks, and I felt even better than before. My attacks landed with a smooth precision, and I could tell that Xehanort was getting tired already.
"Give it up already! You're all beat up!"
"Gah... You think I would give up?! No! I AM going to win, and there is nothing to stop me!" He backs away from me and chants the most hated words of all time: "You shall forever wander..." All at once, his time machine appears.
"Damnit, Xehanort! You're a cheap prick, you know that?!" I dash towards it, and begin to assault it. Knowing him, he tries to stop me, but this time, I manage to destroy it in time, and land the finishing blow on him.
"Hah...hah..." That took a lot out of me. Even with Mirra's power, I couldn't last long. I felt tired again, but I toughened it out and treated Mirra's wounds. She helped me, so I'll help her. And, when she healed me, did she just call me her lover? No, I thought I misheard it. When I finished healing her, it was only a matter of time before she woke up...
"Mmm... Ah... Oh, hi Riku..."
"Hey. Did you sleep well?"
"That depends. Did you beat him?"
I point to his knocked out body on the other side. "Yep, and I owe it all to you. Mirra, you're amazing, you know that?"
"Hehe... It's nothing, honestly... I just didn't want you to lose..."
"Well, I didn't. Thanks, Mirra."
"You're welcome... I think I'm just going to go back to sleep..."
"Sure thing. Want me to take you home?"
"Yes, please." With that, I picked her up damsel-in-distress style and open a Corridor to her homeworld.
