Chapter 19: Demon Awakened

-Sora's POV-
"Mirra, is that you?! What happened here?" I call out to her. She responds: "I killed them."
"Well, damn Mirra. Who knew you could go all psycho-killer mode on them." She wore a bloody lab coat and her hair was stained with blood. "By the way, what happened to your clothes?"
I can hear her sigh. "After I was captured, I woke up in a necromancy lab, where Necrodeus was there to kill me. They stripped me of my clothing, so I had to fight back. All I had was my remaining magic, so I finished him off. I freed myself, and found this chainsaw lying around. It wasn't an ordinary chainsaw, so I took it. I also grabbed some clothing from a closet, and fought my way out the demon way: Kill all those in your way!
"Wow, uh..." I lean in closer to Riku's ear and whisper, "You have a really psycho girlfriend, Riku."
"Yeah, I can see that. But, it looks like her insanity is used for the good reasons."
"Anyway," she interrupts, "I have cleared away the bulk of the Senex horde, but we're not out of the woods yet. I've heard of someone they call 'the grandmaster'. If I can locate and kill this grandmaster, all things Senex will disappear from the world."
"Really?! That's great news!"
"Yeah, it is."
Riku stops her at that moment. "Is there a catch?"
"Thankfully, no. But, it will be a dangerous route. I can't let most of you tag along. Roxas and his group will have to go home."
Roxas lets out a breath of disappointment. "Well, I can't blame you. If we were to get hurt or even killed..."
Naminè finshes that sentence for him, "Then you wouldn't be able to forgive yourself. It's alright."
Mirra nods. "Right. I have deep emotional issues, as Uncle Darius puts it. If I were to lose something close to me, it would haunt me until I'm on my deathbed. I don't want to lose any of my friends. I love all of you too much to let go. So please, heed my warning, and leave you guys. I need Sora and Riku's strength to fight, and Kairi's light to keep my darkness in check. Understood?"
"Understood. Let's go, guys." Axel opens the Corridor, and everyone goes in. Well, except for me, Riku, and Kairi.
"Okay, the plan is simple: we go to the basement of the castle and kill the grandmaster. Any questions?" Mirra's voice was firm.
Kairi gives off a question of her own, "Is everything really about death here???"
"Yes. Life is not endless. Death is a requirement to complete life. We cannot take advantage of the time we have left. Death is not a curse, it is merely a truth. A painful truth. Life, as we know, is a beautiful lie. Understood, Kairi?"
"Yeah, I get it..."
"Good. To the basement!" Senex demons block the path, and we naturally summon our Keyblades. Mirra blocks us. "Let me take care of this. Stand aside. This can get gruesome." She revs up her chainsaw, and I cover Kairi's eyes. She has a weak stomach, so she wouldn't like the sight of demon blood flying everywhere and body parts all over the place. I even see her slice a head off and made the rest explode. Yeah, Kairi wouldn't want to witness this. It'll give her nightmares.
"Okay, we can proceed." I still cover Kairi's eyes and lead her out of the hallway.
"Can I see now?"
"Nope! You're not going to love it. Trust me."
The pathway to the basement was really something! Endless hordes of demons keep blocking the way, but thank God we have a super-powered demon on our side! But, it feels strange... After all, what exactly is Mirra, anyway? I know she's the Alterasian Queen, but there's something else that's stuck in my head... Like her powers and what she is.
"Hey, Mirra? There's something I've wondered... About you."
She stops after slicing another Senex grunt in two. She finds a door, breaks it open, and investigates inside. She gestures us to go in. Inside the room, we all sit down. Kairi tends to her wounds as she begins her story...

"Well, if you really want to know Alterasia, I will tell you everything. First of all, my name isn't just Mirella. My full name is Mirella Iris Berlitz. I was told that I am the remaining sucessor of my family line... This is what Uncle Darius told me..."
