Ahsoka and Malachor

Chapter 2

Rex's POV:
I'm so relieved that I managed to find Soka, I thought I'd lost her good this time, I had to many close calls with my Commander( Blue Shadow Virus, Cad Bane, Genosis, Trandoshian Hunters, Her Betrayal, the Siege of Mandalor and now this). I need to tell her how but I don't know if she returns my feelings. I've fought in battles and risked my life for others most of my life but I'm afraid to tell Soka how I feel. I'll go see her and tell her the truth, it's the least she deserves.

Ahsoka's POV:
I woke to the smell of antiseptic, the harsh lights of the medbay and someone holding my hand while dozing beside me. I looked over a saw it was Rex. He looks so peaceful when sleeping, not the war torn veteran I know and love. I've had these feelings for Rex since before my betrayal, I just don't know how to tell him, after all the hardship he's had.

I gently squeeze his hand to let him know I'm awake. He swiftly engulfs me in a hug. The relief I sense form Rex is overwhelming.
"Don't ever do that to me again sir, I thought I'd lost you for good this time"
"Rexter, I promise I won't be going anywhere for a while"
I slowly lean up a kiss him, to my relief Rex returns my kiss.
"I love you Rex"
"I love you to, lil un"

Just the a healer walks in, so me and Rex break our embrace. The healer begins to check my injuries and re-wrap the ones which have just stated to begin to heal. The healer told me that I to spend the next 3 days in the medbay, then I will be able to start walking around as long as I'm gentle and have someone with me to support me at all times. But apart from that I should make a full recovery, with that the healer left to go get me some food.

The door to my room flys open and in comes the Ghost crew, Ezra came right up to give me a hug whilst Rex told the others what the healer said. During our hug Ezra couldn't stop apologising and said he felt guilty for leaving me there.
"Ezra, I'm here now, I'm recovering, I'll be fine. The most important thing you did was to never give up hope and besides you had your Master to look after"
The look of surprise on Ezra's face as I said this was unbelievable, he must of thought I was angry at him or something.

~Time Skip~ (3 days later)

I was finally dismissed from the medbay with instructions to rest, change my dressings daily and to come back in a week so the can see how my injuries are healing. I'm so restless, Rex only laughs as he knows I've wanted to get out of bed and out of the room since I woke up.

With Rex supporting me, we make our way to my quarters where I wanted to train but I know I can't. It was so boring. Rex spent the morning distracting me. At lunch I went to the mess hall and ate with Ezra, Sabine, Zeb, Hera and Kannan - who had been released the same time as me. We spoke about our past and our favourite memories of it.
Once lunch was over, we were all called to the bridge by Commander Sato where there was a transmission from Senator Bail Orgarna who has invited us all to Onderon to meet a Senator and to discuss the mission, from what I've heard it's training local forces to repel Imperial occupation.

By nightfall we had made it to the surface of Onderon, where we met with Bail, we made our way to the palace I was being supported by Rex and Sabine whom I was leaning on them both quite heavily. About 10 minutes later we had made it to the palace where we were about to be introduced to the Senator.
"Lux it's good to see you again"
" It's good to see you too Ahsoka, Captain Rex"
Rex returned the greeting with a nod.
Bail seemed quite surprised that we knew each other.
"Ahsoka if I may ask, how do you and Rex know Senator Bonteri?"
" Well I met Lux during the Clone Wars but Rex met Lux when me, Rex and two then Jedi had been giving the task of training the Onderon Rebels to fight the Seppis".
Bail just nods in response. Lux is then introduced to the rest of the crew after this we are all taken to the dining area where we eat a light meal. After the meal has finished we are shown our quarters, luckily Rex's is next to mine, where we turn in for the night.
