A year later...
Draco looked at the invitation in his hand and he felt like he was going to crumble it.
"I can't do this, Granger," Draco said to his companion who sat on the sofa in the flat they shared.
She tried to ignore the shiver that ran down her back when she heard her last name. He only said it when he was angry at her though, "I don't see your problem with changing in front of others," she looked up from her book at the blonde man who was leaning against the fire place.
Draco glared at her, "This is the first time, Granger! Since the incident!"
"It's the same for all of us, Draco!" She went back to her book, "Harry thought it would make the transformation better if we changed together like we use to... back then."
"I don't know," Draco ran a hand through his hair.
Hermione got up from her seat, "Please?" she gave him her best puppy dog eyes.
"No," Draco looked away knowing he would easily fall for them if he did. He found a sudden interest in the photo of him and her in a photo booth that a Muggle mall she took him to.
Hermione got down on her knees, "Please?"
Draco growled and look down at her, "Fine!"
Hermione jumped up and gave him a hug, "Yea! Thanks, Draco!"
He wrapped his arm around her and inhaled her scent, a smile on his face. Her scent was a vanilla and raspberry smell that always seemed to calm him down and give him a sense of home, "Yea. Whatever."
Hermione giggled at his tone of voice and she inhaled him at the same time. He smelled of pine and mint and she had to admit that he smelled like home to her too but would never tell him, "You have to be there anyway," she murmured but with their enhanced hearing, he heard it.
"And why's that?" he whispered in her ear equally as soft.
"Harry and Ron are challenging you, again," she said the last word with loathe. When she had heard about this, furious would not be the word to describe her. She was surprised that they had not gotten down on their knees and beg for her forgiveness. This was not the first time that those two knuckleheads had challenged him. Hermione kind of wondered if Ron was doing this because it was the only way for her to accept him. Accept him as her mate that it. She almost gagged at that thought. Her wold many think that he would make a good mate if he won against Draco but her wolf also knew that it was wrong. Hermione then wondered why Harry was challenging him. All that she wanted was for those boys to except Draco but that was not going to happen.
Draco growled and sighed at the same time, "When will they ever learn?"
"Never," Hermione responded and let go of him. Immediately wanting to be in his arms again but she ignored the feeling, "But by the way you are complaining, you sound more tired of fighting them."
Draco only chuckled in response and looked down at his watch, "When do we have to be there?"
"10 minutes," Hermione jumped on to the sofa and picked up her book.
"And you give me this now?" Draco was always amazed at how Slytherin she was at times.
Hermione's brown eyes stared into his grey eyes, "I knew you would say no if I gave it to you earlier."
Draco growled again, he seemed to do that a lot, "Did you want me to come?"
Hermione sighed and placed the book down next to her, "I want you to win, Draco. You are my best friend," Draco smiled innerly knowing where he stood in her life above Harry and Ron, "But if Ron wins, you know what he will want to do," Hermione shivered at the thought.
