A/N: This is kind of an extended version of a blurb I did for the song ILYSB by LANY for my playlist blurb game on Tumblr. I really enjoyed the vibes and wanted to write more for it cause I had more thoughts but didn't want to make the blurb super long so here it is.
Recently Zion had noticed a change in himself. Whenever she was around, all he could think about was the thought of holding her hand on long drives in the dead of night with her wearing his favourite sweater and softly singing along to the songs on the radio. He was hooked on the feeling of being close to her.
Just being in her presence made him feel something he had never felt before. Watching her smile as she played with Simba and listened to the boys working on new music in their garage studio brought a new sort of flutter to his body.
In his 20 years of life, not once had any other person made him feel this way. She was the only one and he needed to let her know that she was the only one. The only one to actually make him want to confess and use the four letter word that hadn't held much meaning to him before meeting her.
"You're the only one, alright? And you need to know that you keep me up all night. My heart hurts so good. I love you, babe. So bad." Zion blurted out as he leaned against the counter watching her dance around the Prettymuch kitchen as she baked brownies for everyone.
She was in a pair of leggings and one of his favourite sweaters. He couldn't help but notice how cool she looked. He never let a girl wear his clothes before because let's be real, he thought they'd all look ridiculous since he was so tall and most girls he had any sort of relationship with had been significantly shorter. But she was different, she always had been. She made the sweater look like a designer dress meant for a runway instead of a lazy afternoon spent in his house.
He watched anxiously as she stopped her movements, still facing away from him. It worried him because what if he just ruined the best friendship he ever had? What if she hated him after this? Would things ever be the same again? All these questions swirled around in his brain as she slowly walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his waist, leaning her head on his chest.
She could feel the fast beating of his heart as she watched him zone out. She had known him long enough to know that he was overthinking everything he just said. He wasn't one to openly express his emotions to just anyone but she had always been one of the lucky people who got to see that side of him. Whether he was stressed because of a studio session or anxious about a performance, she always expected him to release all this emotions to her. What she didn't expect, was a sudden love confession from him.
The warmth from her body shook him out of his thoughts as he slowly and carefully wrapped his arms around the smaller girl he so desperately wanted and needed to love him back. He had never said those words to any other girl before and now he was kind of regretting it. He didn't know where she stood and that just made his overthinking go into over drive. Before he could even process his own thoughts, his body was doing its own thing and making the words flow from his lips at 100 mph.
"I'm sorry if that ruins things. You know what? Let's just forget I even-"
"Did you know that from the moment we met back in Ottawa during the first grade, I knew that nobody could take your place? And you need to know that I'm hella obsessed with your face. I love you so bad Zion. I was just waiting until I was sure of how you felt before I confessed my feelings to you. I guess now is the right time hey?"
Zion couldn't stop the smile from spreading across his face as he placed a gentle and loving kiss on her forehead. He felt this overwhelming sense of relief wash over him as his body relaxed at her touch. This was something he never imagined happening but it was everything he could have imagined.
There he was, just standing in his kitchen as he held onto the single most important person (other than his family) in his life. The girl that was always there to comfort him when he was hurt, the person who always believed in him long before he even believed in himself, the one to own his heart without knowing it, the one to love him when others found him unlovable, and most importantly the one who he knew he would never let go of.
She was finally his and that was all he could think about. A beautiful picture of their future together just floated through his mind as he pictured her walking down the aisle at their wedding, the sight of their own little family spending lazy days together watching movies and most importantly, the little moments that he knew would make her smile. He was so hopelessly lost in everything she embodied and he wouldn't want it any other way.
Zion's heart hurt in such an amazing way that he just knew nothing could stop him from loving her because he truly loved her so bad.
