Later in my hotel room, Vee lays across the bed hounding me with questions. "But really, what are you going to do if he says something to you" I roll my eyes loosing 2 inches as I step out of my heels. "I'm done talking about this" [throws heels to the side] Victoria sits up making room for me. "I just want you to be prepared for whatever tonight." I lean into her chest, letting her wrap her arms around me. "It's not a big deal, so lets not make it one"

"Aww"

I peak up, unable to hide my questioning look. "Sorry, I'm just proud of you. I never thought I'd see the day you got over them." I didn't say that. "Yeah- me too" I hate lying to her but, I can't tell her now that she's all proud of me. I can handle this on my own. It'll be a quick night, I'll show up eat, dance, congratulate and go. No one will even notice that I'm there.

After an unexpected nap, Victoria and I get dressed for the reception. As I freshen up my make up I can't continue to ignore Victoria looking at me puzzled. "Ok, why are you looking at me like that?" I say turning towards her. "You're wearing that again?"

I glance at my dress, then to her. "Yeah, it's the only dress I brought." She shakes her head looking through her suitcase. "I'm so glad I brought my suitcase over"

"I didn't know the reception was going to be separate"  I say walking closer. "It was on the invitation Millie" she pulls out a short red dress with a subtle sheen over the satin material.  So much for no one noticing me. "I really think what I have is fine" Vee shoves the dress against my chest. "No, trust me you don't want to be the only one that hasn't changed."

We walk into the outdoor venue and I'm jaw dropped, it's stunning. String lights hung beautifully with the floral ceiling. Lights perfectly contrasting against the dark navy sky. I'm glad we changed, looks like everyone pulled out their classiest. Peacocking at its best.
