maybe it's because of your kind nature, a completely different person off the battlefield, never being able to turn anyone down, or say no to someone. or perhaps you're just too protective, but it can't be helped, Craig is an awesome partner and anyone is lucky to have them as theirs, and he's the lucky one.

he were fine with you going out with the other operators, he'd always tell you to have fun and get home safe. he was fine with the other friends, but not someone she saved, an innocent boy that just wants to thank the person who saved him from that hell hole, thank the person that saved him from being a hostage for any longer.

but one too many times is enough to push Craig past his breaking point. he had no idea how he managed to get your contact information, somehow he managed to and he'd ask you out once too many times.

"it's just a dinner, nothing more than that." you spits from the doorway, your hand holding onto the door frame.

you were patient, really. but he just can't let this slide, be it holding you by the sleeves or blocking the door, he just can't let this go on any longer and you weren't going to give in this time, you had her own life too.

"not when it's more than thrice a week, you come home and leave in an hour, just to see her for a dinner." Craig's hands moved up to make air quotations, a snarl present on his face.

"what are you trying to imply? do you think i go around with guys all the time?"

"that's not what i'm trying to say-"

"whatever, i'm done with you. you should know that i have my personal life and my life does not revolve around you only. don't wait up."

and with that you stepped out and remembered to slam the door on the way out, leaving the house cold and the sting in his heart started to chew away into Craig as he began to doubt your ability to love you as he heard your car start up and drive out of the driveway.

"what are you trying to imply?"

was he too harsh?

"do you think i go around with guys all the time?"

that isn't that what he meant.

" you should know that i have my personal life and my life does not revolve around you."

was he too clingy?

"i'm done with you."

did this silly feeling and doubt bring out the worst in him?

walking to the couch and throwing yourself down on it, tears start to pool and soon fall down Craig's eyes and soon the room was filled with the sound of him sobbing away, broken apologies falling from his mouth to no one in particular.

perhaps to you if you was still here.

Craig's mind conflicted on whether if he should call you to pour his heart out or let you have your space and talk things out together when the both of you had cleared your heads.

either way, Craig were convinced that he'd still lose you either ways, might as well choose the option that's the best for you, letting you enjoy your night after he destroyed everything.

as Craig started to drown in his thoughts, a ring from his phone snapped him out from his hazy daze, slowly searching through his pocket for your phone while he sniffled back tears and through his tears, he saw the notification from you.
