Dohee woke up early on a Saturday morning. She looked out her window and saw it was still quite foggy outside. But she still felt like she needed some fresh air. She got out of beg and began putting on some of her warmest clothes. A sky blue long sleeved shirt, regular denim jeans, a black sweater, and a black beanie.
She grabbed a paper and a pen, writing a note to Jiyoung. She left the note on the kitchen counter and walked out of the house.
Though it was cold outside, it didn't seem to bother Dohee. She walked all the way to the park, hands in her pocket. Her breath seemed to blow out smoke every time she breathed out.
After walking for quite a while, she needed a break. The closest thing to her was the park. She walked over the grass and sat on a bench by herself. She sat there, watching ducks walked past her, and birds fly over her. The weather seemed so sad today, but Dohee was feeling so happy.
She heard footsteps walking her way. She turned to her right, and saw Minhee walking with his bike. Minhee looked up. He saw the girl and stopped walking. Dohee looked away awkwardly. Minhee began walking again, and Dohee's heart began to beat faster and faster the closer he got.
Soon, he was standing right in front of her. Dohee looked up at him. He looked down at her. "Is this seat taken?" He asked. Dohee shook her head. "Do you mind if I sit here." He asked.
"Go ahead." Dohee muttered.
Minhee parked his bike right next to the bench, then took his seat right next to Dohee. "How have you been?" He asked.
"Good." Dohee replied. She was feeling amazing not even ten seconds ago, but being around him made her feel awkward. "What about you?" She asked.
"Good." He replied.
The atmosphere between then was getting more awkward by the second. Dohee didn't know whether to leave or not. She slowly began to get back up, but Minhee spoke up. "What was your plan this whole time?" He asked.
"Huh?" She said. She leaned back on the bench confused.
"What was your plan? Was it to play with my feeling? Hurt me? Make fun of me? Because if thats what it was, then it really worked." Minhee said sadly. He didn't know why he was feeling like this. He might've just needed to let it all out.
"I didn't have a plan. It wasn't my intention to hurt you. To make fun of you. Or to even play with your feelings. I didn't want to do any of that." Dohee said.
"Then what was that all about last time? Because it really sounded like you were making fun of me." Minhee said. "Did you even like me?"
"All that wasn't me. And I did like you. And I still do." Dohee said. "Everything we did, we talked about, it was all me. Nothing I said was a lie. And I wanted to tell you sooner, but I was scared."
"Scared of what? Scared of what Dohee?" He said, standing up from his seat. He was getting angrier.
"Scared of what you would think of me." She said standing up. Minhee calmed down, feeling a bit confused. "I was scared to know what you would think of me. I really liked you, Minhee. I knew that once you knew who I was, you'd be disappointed. I knew that you wouldn't like me." She admitted. Tears began falling down her cheeks.
"Why would you feel that way? There's nothing to be scared of." Minhee said.
"That's what Junho kept telling me. But I didn't listen because I was so paranoid. I was acting stupid and to scared. Believe me, I wanted to tell you." She said. More tears were coming out.
"Then what was all that at school? How did all that happen?" He asked.
"The twins somehow grabbed a hold of my phone. They found the messages. I don't know how everything happened." She said. She sat back down on the bench. She looked down at the floor. Letting most of the tears fall.
Minhee sat back down next to her. "Then what about the carnival? I asked you guys if you even went, and Junho said you didn't." Minhee said.
"Maybe because he knew if he told you, it would somehow get to the twins. I wasn't allowed to go out that day, I was supposed to stay at the cafe." Dohee explained.
"So thats why?" Minhee muttered.
It got quiet again. "I like you Minhee. A lot, actually. But I think it's clear how you feel right now. I'll go first." Dohee said. She stood up, and began walking away. Letting everything go. Tears were still falling down her cheeks.
Minhee was still confused. But he knew that he didn't want to let her go. She was too special for that. He stood up and ran back to her. He wrapped his arms around her, giving her a tight back hug. "I'm not disappointed, Dohee. I like you a lot. I fell for the girl I met at the carnival. I fell for you." Minhee said. Dohee's heart began beating rapidly. Minhee's heart was beating rapidly. "You have no idea, how long I've been wanting to do this." He said.
Minhee's loosened his grip on Dohee. She turned around to face him, and his grip tightened around her. Dohee looked down at his chest. "Are you sure you're not disappointed?" She asked.
"I'm the opposite of that. You make me happy, Dohee. I can't think of any other girl as amazing as you." He said. She looked back up at him. He leaned his forehead against hers. "Be my girlfriend Dohee. I really want to be with you." He said.
Dohee gave a small smile. "Ok." She said.
Minhee have her a large smile. He leaned down and gave her a quick peck on her lips. She looked back down at his chest, her cheeks turning red. Minhee let out a slight laugh. He lifted up his hand, and titled her head to face him with his fingers. He kissed her again, this time, it lasted longer than a second.
The two heard a bunch of clapping. They pulled away and turned around. There, they saw Junho and Eunsang clapping together. "Finally!" Junho shouted. Dohee wanted to kick his butt.
"Get a room you two. This is a public place." Eunsang said.
Minhee glared at his friend. "You better get out of here before I kill you." He said.
"You told me to come here!" Eunsang exclaimed.
"And now I'm telling you to leave." Minhee said.
"Come on Eunsang. Let's get some cake." Junho said. The two walked off together, leaving Minhee and Dohee alone.
"Let's go out. I want to show off my girlfriend." Minhee said.
"I might need to get used to that." Dohee said. She was more shy than usual.
"You better. Because I don't ever plan to stop. Now, let's go get something to eat. You like ramen?" He asked.
"I live for that." Dohee said.
"Great." Minhee said. He let go of Dohee, and instead, took hold of her hand. "And get used to this too. I'll be doing this a lot in school. As well as the hugs. The kisses. Everything." Minhee said.
Dohee's cheeks were turning red. Minhee smiled at the girl. He leaned down and gave her another quick kiss. The both were as happy as they could be.
