3.Days till Halloween

"You sure about this?" Jenny asked me as she leaned against the fence.

"Well I have to gain money somehow." I said as I stick the flyer on the traffic lights mast.

"As a babysitter? Honey you could gain money with a better job." She said and walked next to me.

"It's only a part time job, Jenny. I like children, so why not."

Jenny nodded her head as she continued to chew her gum.
I stepped away from the traffic light and walked back the way, where we came from. I got into my car and waited for Jenny to get in.

"(Y/n) Did we really had to drive the whole way out her to Haddonfield so you could hang those flyers around the city? Why didn't you just hang them in your neighbourhood?" She questioned as she got in and closed the car door.

"Well, it's complicated. I lived here many years ago and...I just wanted to confront the bad memories I gather here, Haddonfield is my home and I was to scared to concer my fears and all the people around me, so when I finally turned 18, I moved out which was a few years ago. I moved out without saying goodbye. Somehow I'm still drawn to this little city, so I hung my flyers around here." I explained and then started the engine of my car. The car drive was silent for a moment till we saw the shield that says:' You're Leaving Haddonfield, hope to see you soon!'. Jenny then turned towards me in her seat and smiled sadly at me.

"You know, I understand your decision and as a good friend of yours I want to help you with all of that. So if someone calls, you can count on me."

I smiled and looked at her for a short moment before I stared at the road again.

"Thank you Jenny, that means a lot to me."

"Anything for you."

We decided to talk about some funnier things since it was some depressing air between us. I didn't even noticed that we were already at our hometown. I drove her home before I continued to drive to mine, where my husband smile his charming smile at me as I turned the engine off. I smiled back at him and got out of my car before I walked to him and was greeted by his strong arms.

"Glad that you're back and that nothing happened on the way." He said and kissed my forehead.

"Well I'm a strong woman, no one would even dare to attack me." I said sarcastically and boobed his nose with my finger.

"Oh sure miss strong lady." He said rolling his eyes playfully and opened the front door before he walked me inside.

"I've cooked some food for you, only if you're hungry."

"Thank you, that's really nice of you."

"I'll go out with the boys again, don't wait on me cause I don't know how long I'll be gone." He said and already began to chat with someone on his phone. He got his jacket and put it on.

"But I thought, that we would do something today." I disappointed said and looked at him like some lost sheep.

"I'm sorry babe, I forgot about that....We can do this tomorrow yea?" He said smiling and got into his shoes.

"Mh..ok.." I said not completely agreeing to his offer.

"I Will be yours tomorrow, I promise."
Like you promised that we would do something today...
"Ok, be careful."
You're stupid if you believe that.
"You're the best!" He said and kissed me "I love you!"
Do you?
"Love you too!"
Do I?

And with that he closed the front door and I was yet alone again in this cold house. Sometimes I wished that I would have a husband who would always keep an eye on me, to care for me more than any other person, to love me for who I am and most of all...be there for me, when I need him the most.

Disappointed and tired I walked into the kitchen and got some food out of the fridge. Well at least he though about me a little, since he cooked something for me, I thought and sat down at the table.

I looked down at my food and let out a shaky breath and continued to just stare at my food. I played with it a little with my form, I wasn't hungry suddenly anymore.
But then I heard my phone ring in the living room.

I got up and left the food on the table.
I walked into the living room and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

...

"Yea, I hung them up today."

...

"Uhm yea sure! That sounds great!"

...

"Yea I will be there in two days then."

...

"Ok thank you, I wish you a good day too!"

I then hung up and did some weird happy dance. I received a call from a woman who needed a babysitter for two of her precious kids. The only thing that was bothering me though was that I had to come over in two days and the parents will be gone for 4 days, which means I had to look after them over Halloween. Even though I sounded happy on the phone, I was actually screaming inside and panicking.
