A new age of peace had come upon both the Pride Lands and the Outlands. It had been months since the great battle and the defeat of Zira. The lands finally came together and formed a promise of peace between the lands. Instead of fighting for food and resources, Pridelanders and Outlanders leaned upon one another in the name of making life better for all. Of course, it took some time before the long standing tensions started to ease between both sides. But for the few conflicts between Pridelander and Outlander there many more there to work with one another.

Simba and Nala worked hard with Vitani and Kopa, who now resided in the Outlands in the den she grew up in. Alongside the two of them was Nuka, looking much better and happier than he ever had before. Together the three of them worked hard to make the Outlands hospitable instead of a place to be abandoned. It was said that it couldn't be done but with the combined efforts of the Outland lions and some help from the hyenas and crocodiles, life sprouted from the Outland soil. The news of the first sprouts of grass then soon trees and flowers decorating the environment.

Kiara and Kovu were working alongside Simba and Nala, keeping the peace among the land and offering aid to anyone who needed it. The king and queen watched them with great interests and were impressed with the dedication they put into their tasks and how careful the two were about the greater good of both lands. It only made them both more sure of the decision they had come to some time prior. At first both Simba and Nala were unsure if it was the proper time to do something like that seeing how much had changed and how much their kids had grown, they were certain that it was time. They gathered the royal lions to Pride Rock, telling them that there was something important that they needed to know.

Soon Kopa, Kiara, Kion, Kovu and Vitani were all gathered within Pride Rock, awaiting the news coming from the king and queen.

"Dad, what is this all about?" Kiara asked, looking around. There were no other lioness within the cavern. She wasn't used to the place looking so empty.

"Yeah, you said it was something important," Kion added. "If it's trouble, I can take care of it!"

"Kion, calm down," Vitani chuckled. "If anyone's gonna care of anything, it's gonna be me."

"Come on, what are we all here for?" Kopa asked gently.

"It's been awhile since we've been altogether like this," Kovu pointed out. "Maybe they just wanted to see us all at once."

Simba finally cleared his throat and looked at the many young felines standing before him. It made his heart swell with pride knowing that they grew up so much and were now ready for the next stage of their lives.

"I brought you all here because it is time," Simba eluded with a grin on his muzzle.

"Time?" Kiara asked, tilting her head. "Time for what?"

"Wait... You don't mean..." Kion gasped, taking a step back.

"We do, Kion." Nala nodded, looking to Simba to explain.

"It's about time that the title of King and Queen of the Pride Lands be passed down," Simba explained.

"What?!" the others exclaimed in unison.

"A-already?!" Vitani growled. "But you're not that old yet."

"True," Nala chuckled. "But we've been through a lot. Retaking the land from Scar and bringing it out of a whole war...We think it's about time we pass it onto you. You're more than ready and I'm sure you'll do better than we did."

"But who's gonna be in charge?" Kion wondered aloud. "We were all sure that it was gonna be Kiara and Kovu but Kopa's the first born. Doesn't that mean it all goes to him and Vitani?"
