Running Blood

I continue to run in the forest, passing and stumbling through the large roots of the tall trees. I don't know what I'm running from but I'm too terrified to turn around to see. I only hear shrieking and wailing behind me they're so loud I couldn't even understand my own thoughts. My lungs are in misery and my legs yearn to give out, I fell to the soil.

I feel exhausted, but I heard someone yell...

"Get up! Keep running!"

I tried to get up, clutching on to a tree for support and with that cry of concern. I continue to run deeper into the wilderness, seeing if I'm going to escape from the loud cries of agony. Which slowly but surely the weeping faded away slowly. I lean on another tree and sinking to my knees, trying to soothe my body by laying down on the pleasantly cold dirt. Not caring if I get filthy, I just wanted to relax and take in the quiet chirping of the crickets. I look up seeing the cloudy sky, it was a dark purple and black pigment. My eyes fading to sleep soon falling slumbering under the elegant sky. Waiting for the morning birds to wake me up.

"Good night kid."

Thinking of making this a short story part like River Tales.
