It's been a long day, I slowly unlock the door to my apartment. Carrying a heavy bag over my shoulder filled with different types of parts and metals for my project. I toss it on my working bench once I get to my room and shrug off my heavy dark green jacket resting it on the back chair. I sat down on my comfortable chair, pushing a button turning on a hologram screen. Viewing my several blueprints for this one design.
Project 1.v7 being thick steel boots for close combat, I swiped the screen to the left. Having it as a guide while pulling out some materials and a black pair of heavy boots from the bag. Setting them to the side, I grabbed some tools from underneath the table, getting ready to work. I started to use the boots as a measuring base for the metal to weld together around the front toe to have a harder impact when kicking. Placing some scrap parts of steel around the boots to see how much it will need to cover the toe.
After that, I get up from my chair taking the scraps and placing them into a small crucible furnace to melt. While the steel is melting, I work on the bottom of the boots, forming cube shapes in the bottom but being careful to not go completely through. Installing two small jets for the boots, not for flying but a jump increase. I finished installing them and went to check on the melting progress. The steel being completely liquid ready to be poured into the molds to shape them into small long rectangles. Grabbing my pair of gloves hanging on the wall next to the furnace.
I take out the crucible and slowly pour the steel into some of the molds. Then I set the crucible back in the furnace, to let the furnace cool off. I sat back on my chair again and a metal cube fell out of my jacket's pocket and formed into a grey shiny metal cat with yellow glowing eyes.
"Working on the same project I see, This one you've been working on for a while now.". The cat hops on to the working bench then looking right at me, "Well, I just wanted a jump boost, nothing too serious.", I lean back into the chair. "Still if you continue to work on your projects here you could get caught. You've been a target in this city after the bank incident, you should leave it as soon as you can, I recommend.", The cat scratches behind her ears, "I know, I'll finish up the boots to escape this society. After you told me ways to escape we have to go up, Correct?". "Precisely, this world is a city hiding underground from the real world above."
