Stonefork Chapter 3

A/N- Okay guys, I know it has been a while but, I have worked really hard on this. Plus, with school and homework I barely have any time! Hope you like this chappy!!___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________My brother and sister are dragging me into Larosa's, "I'm coming, I'm coming! Hold on!" I say, in between laughs.  "I want a gumball, Alexis!" Cindy pleads. "Me too!" Ben says. "No!" I yell, coming out with more forceful than I had meant for it to. They look at me with puppy dog faces. They are too cute for their own good, I think, sighing. "Fine you can both have a gumball, how much do they cost?" I say, giving in. Their faces light up."Fifty cents!" They both instantaneously say. I rummage through my purse looking for four quarters. "Here you go; I'm going to find a booth." "Okay!" they both yell without looking up. "I want a red one!" Cindy yells excitedly. "I want a yellow one!" Ben adds. I roll my eyes.I take a booth by a window; there are pictures of teams that they sponsored. I look to see if I know anyone and I mentally gasp; there is someone with brown twinkling eyes, flat brown hair, and a grin on her face. It looks just like me! ______________________________________________________________________________ I pull into UDF and fill up my tank; it was running low. The twins are fidgeting in their seats. "We are going to go in, don't worry!" I say, laughing. Ben frowns. "That's not the problem." he says. I raise an eyebrow, looking back in the mirror. He rolls his eyes. "Okay, maybe it is a little but, the main problem is when we are going in." he says seriously, getting out. "Are you coming or not?" "Yah, Yah, I'm coming." I say walking up to Ben and wrapping him up in a big hug. He pulls out of my arms immediately.  ______________________________________________________________________________

I wave to my best friend, since when we were in diapers, Connor. He smiles and waves back. He is a lifeguard and is here all the time. I was going to join him but, they only needed one lifeguard and he really needs the gas money, so I let him have it. The good news is that he has a boat, and a license. We go boating all the time."Dang it!" "Where are Cindy and Ben?" I scramble around, franticly trying to find them. If dad finds out I'm dead! Finally I see them, splashing each other with a bucket they must have found. I run over to them. "You know you can't go in the water without telling me!" I scold. "You could have drowned! And throw that bucket away, think of all the germs!" I turn around to say hi to Connor. As I head toward them I see the twins already talking to him. "I swear!" I think, "One day these kids would make great spies; they are here one second, and not the next!When I reach Connor and the twins, I see Connor. He has his sunburned cheeks, a hot six pack, and shaggy hair that his mother always yells at him about. He must have said something funny because when I face the twins they are both giggling. "Come on! We gotta go!" I say, laughing. Connor raises his eyebrows. Me? I roll my eyes. "Ok! We were just talking to Connor!" But the way the said it made me blush and scold at them. They had said his name droning out the O in a way that made it obvious that they think I like him. "Uhhh, well, see yah!" I said with a little wave before rushing off.  'I sure hope  Cindy and Ben are following!' I think to myself. I stare at the ground deep in thought."Ummm, Alexis, the car is that way..." I blushed and turned around, "Thanks Cind, I-I was just looking at something..." "Suuuuuure, you were" she said with a smile. I stole a quick glance at Connor and saw him looking at me with raised eyebrows. Great! The car ride back was in complete silence. I sigh, "I'm sorry guys, I wasn't being myself." Both quip okay but I can tell they are already thinking of something else. When I look back in the mirror, I roll my eyes, they are both giggling. They think that I love him. They are obsessive about it, too. I pull up the driveway and unlock the car to let them out.  When I had parked the car in the detached garage, fixed my smudged make-up, and grabbed the bags of stuff the twins bought.When I was inside I saw the twins jumping up and down in the family room, along with my dad and Julie.

"I have some good news!" Julie gushed.
