𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 4 - "𝑰-𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒀𝑶𝑼..."

~ a week later ~

~ Your heart was beating fast as you watched the scary scene that was unfolding in front of you. You peered through the little hole from inside the closet as you heard yelling and people fighting as things were breaking and crashing in this place you called your home. You felt your stomach turn as you heard the first gunshot and it was at this moment you felt your whole world about to come to an end. As if the universe heard your thoughts, every single thing that happened after that moment brought the end of your world much closer to reality. Pretty soon you heard the final gunshot and moments later you see your home slowly get engulfed in flames and black smoke. Your tears fell from your eyes as you saw your home burning and collapsing just like the bodies that were already on the floor. You stumbled out of the closet crying your heart out but you couldn't make it that far as the smoke took over your lungs and pretty soon, your body hit the ground as well as you saw a shadow of a man approach you. You were about to surrender to the end but not long before you heard someone say, "Hey there sweetheart." followed by the scariest growl you've ever heard in your life. ~

Your eyes shot open as you once again wake up from another one of your nightmares. You were panting very hard and crying your eyes out. You felt really sick and tired of everything. You sighed heavily as you felt a huge weight on your shoulder. A weight you have never managed to get off of you. You kept on having these recurring nightmares and today was the day you finally decided to find out the meaning behind it.
You were still very much startled from your nightmare, but that soon melted away when you heard a familiar voice in your head.

"Y/n, are you ok? I felt something" you heard Jungkook say through the mind link. You smiled slightly at the thought that he was always there for you and at the fact that you were not alone.

"I'm alright, I just had a nightmare. I'm ok kook." You said softly.

"Love, you've been getting these nightmares for a long time now, don't you think you should do something about it?" he asked.

"Actually I finally decided to get professional help. I think I'll book an appointment with a therapist." You answered back.

"I would come with you but I know how you like to do these sort of things on your own" he said, knowing you usually like to deal with your problems by yourself.

"No. I want you there please. I can't do it on my own this time." You said with a little sniffle.
"Ok love, I'll come over and pick you up and we'll do this together." he said with a soft reassuring voice that calmed your racing heart.
"Actually I'm going to pass by the office to collect a few papers, come pick me up from there in half an hour." You said

"ok, I'll see you later then. I love you Y/n" he said

"I love you too kook."

~ time skip ~

You were at your office. Sorting a couple of your papers that you needed to take with you. You heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" you spoke out loud

It was Minho.
"Hey captain, I have the papers you asked for. Yunsoo gave them to me to pass on to you. Where shall I keep them?" he asked

"You can put them in that folder right there Minho. Thank you." you said softly as you looked up from the documents you were looking at and smiled at him.

He noticed your slightly troubled face.
"Is everything ok noona?" he now asked concerned as he spoke to you as a little brother.

"I'm ok minho-ah, I'm just a little unwell but I'll go to the doctor when your hyung gets here. Don't worry. For now go focus on your exams. Soon I want to see your detectives badge without the word 'junior' in front of it. I'm rooting for you." You said with a reassuring smile.

He smiled back at you for the encouraging comment and bowed slightly before leaving your office.
Moments later you get a call on your office phone.
"Captain Kim." You said as you answered

Officer - "Hi captain, I have Mr. Jeon here for you."

Y/n - "Thank you, send him in please."

You now stood up from your chair and began collecting your things as you walked to the front of your desk.
You heard the door open and soon after a familiar voice said
"Hey there sweetheart"

You turned around to see who it was. It was Jungkook walking towards you.
Your heart stopped. Your entire nightmare started playing before your eyes and soon you couldn't breathe. There was a loud ringing sound in your ear as all the memories of your past came crashing down on you. You held your chest as you slowly fell to the floor. Tears started to drop from your eyes as it all came back to you. Jungkook ran towards you and knelt next to you trying to help you stand up but you moved away from him.
Trying to catch your breath you final
looked up and said

"I-It was YOU.........YOU killed my parents"
