Trees. Trees. Trees, oh look more trees. The entire journey to this hellhole, I've only seen trees.
Well, I also saw two goats going at it. Who would've realized goats like to get it on? But hey, who am I to judge?
I'm still staring out the window of the town car they sent for me from the airport. I thought to myself, why Kurt? Why did you have to leave me? Why did you send me back to this hellhole of a town? You taught me how to survive on my own, but nooo you wanted me to go back to the states to be with my so-called "Parents". If I can even call them that.
"Jordan. Jordan. Jordan!" I turn to harry as he calls out my name." Welcome Home" he says with a smile on his face.
"Home?" I think to myself.
This place can never be home to me. More like a prison. Yeah, that's right, a penitentiary.
As I get out of the car, I see the massive house that I haven't seen for at least six years now. The old man must have came upon some big bucks because house I use to know is gone. It looks as if it should be on that one show of MTV'S Cribs.
As I walk up the driveway, I notice a woman waiting for me. The same woman who I used to think was my safe haven or my protector.
Getting closer to her I can tell she still had the same long wavy black hair that I share with her. Those dark green eyes I also took from her. I did not take her gentle smile. She is still an beautiful woman from the last time I saw her.
Reaching for her, I stop and stare at her with a straight face. Taking me off guard, she pulls me into a tight hug. "Ah, Jordan," I can hear her say. I can feel her tears soaking my shirt. "I've missed you sooo much, my beautiful baby," I hear her whisper to me. She hugs me tighter, thinking I would vanish from her hold.
Allowing her a little more time to hug me with my arms still at my side, I don't believe this woman. I think to myself. Where was all this love that night?
Pulling away from me, I can see her face. Tears still coming down from her face but still haven't affected her beauty. "Hello, Mother," I say in a bored tone.
Still holding me at arm's length, staring at me, her smile turns into a small frown. Probably realizing that I'm uncomfortable with this position right now she let's me go.
She clears her throat and straightens her shirt out, "sorry" she mumbles lowly. "Harry, please take Jordan's suitcases to her room," she tells the middle age man. "Yes, Ma'am," he says back while grabbing my bags from the car.
"So, how was your trip? I bet you're exhausted from your journey," she says while making her way into the home. I follow behind her, keeping my distance between us. "It was fine," I reply to her.
Walking inside the giant house, I noticed a lot has changed in here. New Furniture and paint job. They must have hit the Jackpot and got stacked since I left. Going down the hallway, I see the family portraits plastered all over the wall. Baby pictures, birthday celebration and games. Shit, they have tons of pictures, but not one photo of me, not even baby pictures, "Figures" I say lowly to myself.
"Well, your brother and sister are still in school, but they get out in an hour," she says, sneaking up behind me. "You must be hungry from all that traveling you did. Come follow me," she turns away, walking in the kitchen's direction.
"Ok, let's see what we got," she looks through the fridge. "I can make you a sandwich. Do you still like turkey? I can even cut them into those different shapes you used to love." She takes out the stuff for the sandwich. "No I'm fine. I think I'm going to head to my room now," I say, not looking at her. "Oh um, ok, are you certain? Because I don't mind at all." When I give her a simple nod, she just sighs, turning around, putting the food back in the fridge. "Well, your room is still is the same condition you left behind it in. I put a new bed and dresser in there since you are not so little anymore," she says with a small smile.
Forcing eye contact with her soft dark green eyes," Thank you," I say, turning around.
"Oh Honey, your dad will be home for dinner after work," she yells out before I fled the kitchen, causing me to stop in my tracks.
