Sonadow: Night Falls

Prologue

High above the planet Mobius lied a large fleet of star ships where a battle was in progress. Eggman laughed from the safety of the control room aboard the mother ship, but could see something troubling not too far off. A fire was rising from a fallen robot and through the embers, a heroic blue hedgehog rose to his feet and confidently faced his next challenge. Robots came from the floor and all the cannons aimed at him. As all the weapons fired and the robots charged, Sonic ran quickly, dodging each attack and destroying the robots with his spin attack. A large purple robot lunged to catch him, but Sonic quickly ran around it, causing to trip and fall with a crash. He burst through robots and continued toward the control room.

Finally, Eggman decided to take matters into his own hands. He jumped down into Sonic's path, controlling a very large robot. He began to use the machine gun on the arm to shoot at the hedgehog only for Sonic to be too quick and dodge each and every bullet. Sonic launched himself to hit the bot, but narrowly missed and he tied to double back, only for missiles to be fired. Sonic dodged each attack from the robot, eventually trying to escape into the base.

"You're not getting away!" Eggman exclaimed and shot the hand of his robot down the corridor, grabbing Sonic and dragging him out. Sonic struggled against the robot's grasp, only to have his mischievous smirk to be noticed by Eggman. Sonic closed his eyes and summoned the Chaos Emeralds. Eggman tried to cover Sonic, only for the robot's arms to be blasted off.

Super Sonic floated before the robot, calculating the amount of energy he needed to release. Once he released it, he blasted through the robot and doubled back for another attack in case. Eggman had already begun to escape and Sonic chased him down the corridors of the base.

Every door was in total lock down but Sonic just blasted through them without breaking a sweat. Eggman continued to retreat and once out of the base, Sonic decided to destroy everything Eggman had along the way. Eggman retreated into the space elevator, but fell out of his Eggmobile, landing and skidding across the floor. Sonic blasted through the floor and floated before Eggman.

"S-Sonic!" Eggman stuttered. "I-I'm sorry! R-really! L-look, go easy on me! I'll turn over a new leaf, I swear! Just give me a chance!" Sonic's feet touched the floor and he gave a slight chuckle.

"Well, this is new. Showing remorse, Eggman? If you played nice, I wouldn't have to break all your toys."

The smirk on Eggman's face went noticed by Sonic until the fat man pressed a button he had in his hand. Some flat looking thingies came up from the floor, surrounding Sonic. He tried to escape but an energy warp released by them, pulled Sonic to the center of the room and bound him in place. Sonic struggled to get away, but it was no use. Purple beams shot him and he screamed in pain. Agony shot through him as the Chaos Emeralds were ripped from his body and they began to turn black. Eggman began to cackle.

"Oh, I've waited a long time for this!" Eggman pressed a button and shot a beam of purple energy at Mobius. The planet was struck in the ocean and the planet began to break apart, a dark energy rising from its core.

Sonic was fighting the pain coursing through his veins, clawing the floor. His body began to change. His fur grew longer, his hands larger, his nails becoming claws, and his canines became long and sharp. The Chaos Emeralds has been stripped of their energy and fell to the floor, colorless. Sonic heavily breathed, the pain he felt subsiding a little. Eggman cried, "Success! A brilliant success! It's just as the Gaia Manuscripts foretold! The entity that was sealed within the planet has awakened. Now I just need to harness its power. Eggman Land will finally come to be!"

"You've really. . .gone and done it this time, Eggman," A gruff voice replied. Eggman looked to the creature that had once been a blue hedgehog.

"Ahh ,Sonic. That's a good look for you. Festive! So long, friend!"

The vacuum of space pulled Sonic out and dropped him, and the Chaos Emeralds, to the planet below.
