It was official. Louise had settled in to living with Chris. The media knew about her existence, and her link with the Chris Evans. She went to school like a normal kid, although it was a small private school not many people new about. And let's just say her behaviour was at times... Questionable.
"LOUISE!!" she heard a teacher yell after her hand had just connected with the face of another child.
Louise turned around sheepishly to face her teacher, the cries of the boy she had slapped falling behind her.
"DID YOU JUST HIT BRIAN?" Louise's teacher asked.
Louise nodded. At least she was honest.
Louise was marched down to an office, where she had to explain herself and her actions.
"He was making fun of me. He said Chris isn't my real daddy." She explained.
"If that is so, I will have a conversation with Brian later. But there was no need for violence. I think you should say sorry to Brian, and if what you said was true, you will be receiving one too later."
Louise turned to face Brian. She didn't understand why she was being made to apologise, she felt her actions were perfectly justified.
"We've already called your dad to pick you up Louise, so there's no getting out of this. Just say sorry for now so it can be over by tomorrow." The teacher spoke condescendingly.
"Sorry." Mumbled Louise. It was barely audible to herself, so she knew nobody else would have heard it clearly.
"What was that?" The teacher asked calmly, hoping for progress at this stalemate.
"Sorry". Louise repeated, barely any louder
"She's not saying it right." Brain complained, holding an ice pack to his cheek and still somehow squeezing out tears.
"SORRY!" Louise screamed just as Chris walked in, a confused expression on his face.
Louise quickly turned around, and ran out the door. She ran all the way to the gates of the school, but wasn't able to leave due to the security. So she sat there on the floor and cried.
After Chris had been filled in on the situation and what had happened, he walked out to the gates, eyes quickly scanning for Louise. By the time he caught up with her, she was no longer sitting, and her cries were quiet, although tears still ran down her face. They walked to the car in silence, and drove home in silence too.
Once they both arrived home, Louise attempted to run off straight to her room, but Chris stopped her before she could.
"You have some explaining to do." Chris said sternly.
Chris walked into the dinning room and Louise followed. The both sat at the table without speaking a word.
"I'm not happy, so explain." Chris said calmly staring straight at Louise who was avoiding eye contact and burying her head into her arms. She had started crying again a soon as she sat down, and was making the sleeve of her uniform wet.
"Talk to me Louise. What happened?" This isn't the behaviour I expect from you. Still, no response. Your not allowed to watch Tv today, if you keep on ignoring me, I can extend that to tomorrow aswell.
Finally Louise looked at Chris. Eyes red, cheeks stained with tears. It broke Chris' heart, but he knew parenting entailed difficult situations.
"I sl....slapped some k..kid." Louise spluttered out in between sobs.
"Why?" Chris asked.
Louise just shrugged.
"You do know" Chris replied, continuing his questioning.
Louise started crying even harder than she was before, lying her head on the table. Chris got out of his chair and knelt besides her to soothe her. Louise lifted her head up, and Chris lovingly wiped away some tears with his thumb.
"H...he was being me...mean because y..your not my r...real daddy." Louise whimpered, resting her head on Chris' shoulder.
Chris couldn't do anything but soothe her until she calmed down. When she had, he continued the conversation, this time more gently.
"You can't hit people Marshmallow." Chris whispered still hugging Louise close to him. "It's not what good girls do." Though deep inside, Chris was glad Louise hit Brian, for saying such cruel words that hurt both him and his daughter.
"I love you Louise"
"I love you too daddy."
A/N: Well....I guess it's been a while.
