'Creepy.' Was all Jackie could think as he approached the decrepit old house. A strong breeze quickly blew around him, causing his hair to whip around and a shiver to run through his spine. He pulled his red jumper closer together and zipped it all the way up. He could not have picked a worse night to go to the old -and supposedly haunted- house.
As he approached the abandoned house, he thought he heard something. A whisper in his ear, or something along those lines.'That's crazy,' he thought 'No one's here except me....hopefully.'
The setting sun behind the old house turned the sky various shades of red and orange. The frigid Autumn air whipped around him once more. Shivering, Jackie walked closer to the house.
He had heard the myths about this place. About how everyone who had lived in it, died in it. He wasn't one to believe in such silly things, like how their sprits now haunted the old home, but he had to admit: they certainly put him on edge.
The whispering returned as Jackie got closer to the house. It sounded like . . . giggles? He shook his head 'Its probably just the trees, or the porch.' He thought.
Jackie tried the door. 'Damn.' He thought 'Well, onto find a window!' The 18 year old thought as he walked around the aged house. As far as Jackie could tell, There were at least two floors, the second containing a small balcony. The beige paint of the house was old and chipping, despite the locals saying that there was a resident all but a year or two ago.
Jackie eventually found a broken window. He pumped his fist in the air "Awesome!" He yelled. He was glad there was already a broken window. He might be trespassing, but he really didn't want to have to vandalize the house to get in.
As the boy climbed into the window, he nicked himself on a rather sharp piece of glass. "Damn it! That fucking hurts!" He yelled as he fell the rest of the way through the window.
"Well, so much for being sneaky." He said to no one. He got up and dusted himself off. He seemed to have landed in some sort of common area. He took the sack he had brought off of his back, and dug through it. He grabbed a small First-Aid kit, and a flashlight.
He cleaned the cut with a disinfectant wipe, and wrapped a bandage around the cut. It wasn't to deep, luckily. But I was on his dominant hand, which was a bit irritating.
Jackie looked around the room a bit more closely. The walls were lined with book shelves. There was a large back sofa with a thick wooden coffee table sat in front of it in the middle of the room. There were a few books open on the table, so he cautiously walked over to check them out.
A plane black book sat on the table. It was titled The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft and Demonology. 'That's weird.' Jackie thought. 'Maybe one of the owners left it?' He set that book back down.
He looked around the room for a second, when something cought his eye.
'Is that . . . A person?' Jackie looked back. Sure enough, there was a person standing down the hall. They had there back to Jackie, so he didnt know who they were.
