Jackie was shaking, pure fear coursing through his vanes. Tears pricked the corners of his eyes as he slowly slid down the wall.
He bunched his knees to his chest and hugged them, slightly rocking. 'I could have died.' 'A knife came from nowhere and almost killed me.' Jackie started crying. Not heavily, but to the point where the tears ran down his face at a steady pace.
'I'm in an abandoned house with at least two murderous ghosts, possibly a demon, and seemingly no exit.' With small hiccups, Jackie stood up. He was not going to let a house get the best of him.
He wiped his tears away, and unlodged the knife from the wall. It looked like a simple kitchen knife, but looks can deceive. And Jackie was not going to be deceived anymore, especially not by a house. He tossed the knife under the couch.
He stuck his hands in his hoodie pocket and pulled out the key. 'Might as well find out where this stupid this goes.'
Jackie pondered where the key could go for a few seconds, and decided to try the second door he saw in the kitchen. He patted his pocket for the knife he found on his first trip to the kitchen, only to find it gone.
He made and audible 'tsk' noise. 'Why am I not suprised?'
Cautiously, he made his way over to the doors. Grabbing the key from his pocket, he went around the chair propped against the first, and over to the second.
Slowly, he slid the key into the lock. It was a perfect fit. He carefully turned the key until he heard a faint 'click'.
He withdrew the key, and placed his hand on the knob. He took a deep breath, the flung the door open.
Inside there was nothing but a smashed clock, and a small handmade doll.
The items might have confused Jackie, but at this point he had seen to much in the house to be suprised about anything odd.
He decided against taking the objects, for now.
Sighing, he sat down at the dining table again. He propped his elbows on the table and buried his face in his hands.
'What should I do now?'
Go explore the upstairs or take the objects?
