Ngl this is kinda based off locker130 's AU. Just their personalities and like the ages and stuff. This was maybe possibly an excuse to tag her again

At The Beach

Alex sat down on the wet sand and rubbed his feet in circles on the floor. He let the salty waves wash over his feet every once in a while and squeezed his toes together, letting the water leak through onto the sand.

He watched as his daughter, Angelica, and one of his sons, AJ, played in the water, Eliza in there with them to ensure that nothing happened, while he sat on the beach watching Philip and James Alexander try and fail to make a sand castle. He could almost see the steam blowing out of their ears and hear the frustrated huff from little James.

Eventually, Philip began saying something to James, who nodded eagerly in response as they began to work. Alex was no lip-reader, but whatever it was cheered them both right back up. Eventually, Philip ran over to his father, leaving a 2 year old James Alexander unattended by the sand-sculpture, much to Alex's dismay.

"Pops! Come look at our masterpiece," Philip grinned, pulling his father up and leading him over to James, who was guarding the "masterpiece."

"It's... A sand block with holes poked into the top?" Alex questioned.

"No, silly! It's a sand burger. We were going to make a sandwich but someone," Philip started with a pointed look at James, "ruined that. The holes in the top are sesame seeds."

"Oh. It looks... Appetizing?" Alex said as more of a question than a statement.

"I know, right!?" Philip beamed, staring down at his work.

"Try some, dada!" James Alex smiled, taking a piece of the sand burger and handing it to his father. Alex reluctantly accepted it, but didn't eat it. Instead, he stared at it, wondering if they were being serious or not.

James' smile slowly began to droop. "Why aren't you eating it?" He asked, his sad eyes looking up into his father's.

"Uh, I was just picking which part to eat first! But I decided to just eat it all," Alexander said, as he closed his eyes and shoved the whole mound of sand in his mouth. He waited for James to look away so he could spit it out, but when his son's eyes were still waiting on him, he internally sighed and reluctantly swallowed.

James Alexander finally smiled, content with this, and got to work making a new one, while Alexander tried to inconspicuously wipe sand off his tongue.
