She was right of course. After using her sonic screwdriver to track the TARDIS she found it a few miles from a barn which the TARDIS had told her was where the Doctor had went. It had taken her a while to walk to the barn but when she finally got there it took all her courage to open the door.

He had changed. He was older. Which wasn't what frightend her. What frightend her was the look on his face. The look that said "I am alone." and that was one thing Clara NEVER wanted her Doctor to feel.

"Doctor." Clara was taking very slow steps towards him like he was a wild animal. This was a new regeneration. For all she knew the Doctor had no idea who she was. But of course he did. He always knew who she was.

"I have to do this Clara. I'm sorry. Go back to your family. It'll all be over soon." He didn't even look at her. Clara thought that may have to do with the fact that if he saw her, this would all become so real. Clara walked in front of him. Seeing his wrinkled hands already hovering over the big red button that would crush their planet. Taking a deep breath Clara placed her hands over his, unable to control the tears that streamed down her cheeks.

"You aren't doing this alone." Her voice was shaking but still held a kind of sterness that the Doctor just couldn't argue against. He wanted to tell her to run. To take his TARDIS and leave him here. To run as fast and as far as she could. But that would mean she would be alone.

That seemed to be a mutual weakness for them. Neither of them wanted the other one to be alone. And because of that the Doctor agreed. He had let her stay with him. Because no matter how selfless he tried to convince himself he was for letting her stay, in reality he was being the most selfish man in the universe for making her go through the pain of distroying her own planet just so he wouldn't have to lose her.

"It'll be okay. I promise." Clara took her other hand and placed it on his cheek. Cressing his face. With her other hand slightly pressing down on his telling him that it was time. Keeping her tearfilled eyes on him the whole timed they ended the war. Together.
