She announced her return with a moan.
Her mouth was dry– as if it was stuffed with the Sahara, but at least her stomach no longer felt like it was trying to strangle itself.
Her eyes fell on the sky. Its blue was so beautiful that she almost forgave the rest of the planet for trying to kill her.
With newfound strength, she managed to sit up. Broad shoulders and tanned buttcheeks greeted her. When she swung her eyes away from Vrox's back, a rope of hair flicked over her shoulder and landed between her breasts. She blinked at it. Last time she checked, her hair had been free. Did Vrox braid it?
She stroked the pattern, awed by the familiarity of the perfect french braid.
Her memory jogged and printed the memory of her father combing her locks when she was much younger. The taste of the fresh apple juice they made every Sunday sat on the tip of her tongue, so intense that she had an urge to swallow.
"Kira."
The memory left her just like her father did.
She crossed her arms over her chest and slammed her knees shut. She tossed Vrox an alerted gaze. The guy had dove into too many areas for the day– first her skirt and now forbidden memories.
He fell to his knees beside her, patting her head twice with that massive hand of his. The gesture was too affectionate for her liking. Vrox made it impossible to hate him. He had saved her three times now, and she couldn't even blame him for unsolicitedly revealing her pussy. He was like a child, ignorant of the meaning of personal space.
"Cal," he said, reaching behind her and showing her another one of the lemon-smelling fruits. She accepted it, accidentally skimming her fingers over his scaled hand. Instantly, she flinched away as if he was the mango that immobilized her.
"Thank you for everything. I supposed I'm indebted, so I'll act as your assistant of sorts until I find a way to get back home."
He didn't understand, and that was okay with her. She just needed to put her mission out there. It made her feel like less of a failure if she told herself that she was sticking by his side to pay him back and not because she would face certain death without him.
Vrox stood up and walked over to the shore, leaving her behind to wonder what cal meant. Did it mean eat, or was it the name of the fruit?
When he began to walk back to her side, she looked his way and made eye contact with his dick. Modesty weighed her face down.
"Would it kill you to cover up with a leaf or something?" she muttered.
Vrox sat down next to her. Without warning, he grabbed her braid and tossed it over her shoulder. The craving for space kicked in, and she leaned away from him.
Vrox denied escape. He easily gripped her shoulder with one hand and pressed his free one on her breasts. Her outrage flared back to life, coming back with a vengeance. Without thinking twice, she instinctively swung.
A high-pitched clap went off when the skin of the human met the alien's.
Kira cringed, pruning with fear. "I– I'm sorry."
She waited for his face to adopt rage and his arms to divorce control. A crease thundered between his eyebrows, lighting a frown.
While her weak slap didn't hurt him, he understood the intention behind it.
Vrox's sharp, tanned, bearded face leaned closer to hers. He opened his mouth, revealing a hint of those dangerous teeth of his. A single word that she was well-acquainted with parted from his lips– "Gun."
She audibly gulped. "I'm sorry."She meant the apology. She had swung before she thought. In her defense, she didn't have much experience being groped.
Vrox resumed his mission. He smeared a worryingly green paste across her breasts. When he tried to slip his fingers under the cups of her bra, she pulled away and softly shook her head.
"Gun," she returned.
The sea-salt smelling paste felt fresh against her skin– like menthol. She didn't know what its purpose was, but she wasn't going to allow him to plaster the thing on her nipples.
Vrox made a ticking sound with his teeth, annoyed.
"It will help heal your injury. Stop your rebellion. Much of the daylight has burnt away already. We need to get to my brothers before darkness takes the sky."
Kira blinked at him, and he growled with frustration before diving in again. His hand dropped between her legs, smearing some of the paste across her sex– where Vrox was still convinced a penis had once been.
"I said no!" Kira yelled out in a purely feminine squeal. She gripped his wrist and pulled his uninvited fingers away from her clit. She then wrapped her arms around her legs defensively, frustrated by their cultural barrier. This planet had taken so much of her confidence away. She wouldn't let it take her privacy away as well.
"Mothers," Vrox cursed as he stared at the defensive child. "I apologize if I am hurting you by probing your injuries, but this medicine will help you heal. You have a slit between your legs because the injury is open. You must take care of it."
Kira shook her head vigorously, sending her braid flying. "Gun. N to the fucking O."
Giving up, Vrox stood up and stomped over to the fruit which she had dropped. He picked it up and then held it out.
"Cal!" he yelled, his yellow eyes narrowing with disapproval. The way he demandingly barked the word made her realize that it meant eat.
She accepted it. When it was in her hands, Vrox stomped back to the shore.
Kira bit her lip, torn by an explosion of emotions. Guilt was at the most potent. She felt like she was unnecessarily giving Vrox a hard time, while all he seemed to want to do was help.
She looked to her left and found her skirt, which was still wet. With a final look at Vrox, she grabbed it and slid it on.
Her purse was also still around. She dug into it and recorded the word Cal before eating the fruit. After unzipping a pouch in her purse, she discovered a bag of skittles. With an idea in mind, she grabbed it and began walking to the shore.
Vrox fumbled with his green leaves and wheat-like strands, ignoring her even when she sat beside him. With her feet in the water, she unwrapped the bag of candy.
"Vrox?"
Vrox turned to the boy and found him a handful of colorful little rocks. Understood the peaceful offer, he gripped Kira's delicately curved chin. "No, thank you. I don't want pebbles. I am not angry at you, but you need to outgrow these tantrums. You will be a man soon."
He stroked his thumb across her cheek, enjoying its softness. "You should eat some water animals. Maybe their sour taste will put some hair on your face."
Kira didn't know what the alien was going on about, but at least he no longer looked pissed.
That was enough for her.
