"It's not eye-sweat," Kira corrected the silly alien.
"Eye piss, then?"
She scrunched her nose. "It's just a reaction to eye irritation or the flare of emotions."
"Vrox," Ni'ev called.
"I will be back," Vrox declared as he stood up. "Do not make her eyes water, or I will punch you across the continent."
Kyros waved him off. "Leave. You are disrupting my studies."
Kira gave him a supportive smile, and he stared at the lips he had just been kissing until Ni'ev called his name again.
Kyros moved his attention back to her. "Rokan went hunting. I can show you how to skin when he returns."
"Cool," Kira agreed. "So why don't we play a game as we wait? You ask me one question, and then I'll go."
"Very well. How do you get all of these things you mentioned? A ca–ar, a lit-bull, and a tee–vision? Do you have a currency on Earth?"
She smiled. "Yes. In The States, they use a currency called a dollar."
"The States?"
"There are many countries on Earth. There are almost two hundred."
Kyros squinted his blue eyes. "Two hundred? Your world is very divided."
"Yes, but population is part of the reason why. Earth has many citizens. How many governments are in Ezron?"
Kyros was quick to reply. "One. Before The Vanishing, the crowned commander ruled in the capital. There were two war commanders under him and an elected council, but we do not know what happened to them. We have no longer have leaders or currency systems."
He sighed. His wonderous planet had been reduced to a volcano of anarchy.
"What about Earth? Have there been many wars?"
"Earth has had more wars than years of existence," she exaggerated.
"There is not much war on Ezron anymore. After The Vanishing, there was nothing to fight for, no future to try and shape. Now that you are here, there will be hope again."
Kira tugged at the corner of the fur that was wrapped around her chest. Every time someone brought up the fact that she had to get pregnant, she felt cornered. So many things could go wrong with the plan. Her child would be a hybrid. What if it died? What if someone took it from her? What if men didn't care that she was marked by Vrox, and tried to plant their own kid in her?
She shook her head, needing a distraction before her eyes watered and Vrox punched poor Kyros to Drukai.
"How big is Ezron?"
"It is massive," Kyros replied. "There are two continents. We are on Xendros. The capital used to be in the south."
"Vrox told me that you used to live there."
"Yes, but we were forced to leave. It was not safe. There was blood flowing through the streets and mental-rot flowing through men. Civilization fell apart so drastically that no tribes remain. The biggest group you will find is two or three brothers traveling together."
That was a hard pass. She would much rather avoid meeting more men.
"Do you see many people in these parts?"
