A demon or a slayer [DISCONTINUED]

Chapter 3

In a room at the Ubayashiki state, all the hashiras were sitting infront of their master. Ubayashiki Kagaya, the father of the corps. At his side sat two yoing girls, patiently waiting for any kind of orders.

The Hashiras sat silently, all paying their respects to the sickly man. The subject of the meeting was a risky one, after all it was the first time this happened.

"If I have requested for your presence today, is due to a rumor that has been brought to my attention. Several children have made a report about two demons protecting them, or any human from other demons."

Several doubts grew, all of which were caused by experience."Oyakata-sama, I have absolute trust in your judgement but that just sound absurd."Was the response of Shinazugawa Sanemi, the wind pillar. A man covered in scars, and proud of each one of them.

"I am aware of that Sanemi, but Shinobu and Giyuu have already been in contact with the two. So I would like their opinion on the matter."They took a look at the slayers concerned, their curiosity growing.

"Giyuu, you were able to shortly interact with one of them. Can you tell us more on the boy?"The water pillar nodded shortly, despite all the attention on him he kept a cool expression."The boy seemed relucant on the idea of fighting, going as far as not even drawing his sword out. At multiple reprise did he ask for me to stand down. Never did he counter-attack and simply dodged or ran away. The only time I saw him unsheath his sword was when he was protecting the girl, or when he was putting up a distraction to run away."

Kagaya hummed taking in account what was said from his water child. "Shinobu, how did they interact with you?"

"I haven't had the chance to interact with the boy, but I was able to interact with the girl. She didn't seem to be willing to attack me either, and I watched her slay a demon earlier before we interacted. She claimed that her and her brother hadn't eaten a single human since they were changed, and that they never will. I assume they are sibling as they immediately protected eachother. The boy called her Nezuko, and she called him nii-chan affirming they are in fact siblings."

The father of the corps nodded, letting a second pass for the informations to sink in. "If what is said is true, then my choice is made."

All the hashiras waited in silence."That the two demons that slay demons mustn't be killed. If you come across, you are in charge of bringing them alive and if you learn of any important informations about them, you should report them."As anticipated several protest were made.

He rose a single finger to his lips, silencing everybody. "Oyakata-sama, that goes against the corps rules. We are in charge of slaying all demons, this could be a trap in several ways."Rengoku Kyojuoro the flame pillar answered, the smile on his face missing. "I know of the dangers of this request, but I believe they could be of great help. If they claim to have never actually eaten any human, and that it is true, then we have no right to kill them."

The silence grew, allowing him to continue."And I believe this could be a clue, to the whereabouts of muzan Kibutsuji."

"Nezuko, how is your leg?"Nezuko tapped her foot on the ground, hard enough to create a crack. After an experimental kick, she answered her brother's worry.

"It's okay, let's focus on the task at hand for now."

"Okay, a cat told me about a place called the red light district, and a snake was nice enough to tell me about a train where alot of people disappeared."Her brother turned to look at the view perched on a tree. "There was also two more, a paradisiac cult. A mouse said she saw a blond man eat his followers, and a squirrel saw a person with six eyes near a village. We are closer to the train, we should go there first. There is also a village we could rest at for a few days."

She smiles, looking at the night sky from below the tree. "Nii-chan...he is trying to capture us."Her brother hums, the cheeriness gone."But it won't happen. I won't let it happen."

"I won't let it too, Nezuko. I won't let it too."
