"Nezuko, please lead Rengoku-san to safety. I will buy you time."Her mouth opened to protest, but a look at the flame pillar was all she needed to make a decision. She gave her brother a nod, before turning around and flee to the hashira.
She crouched next to the man, and slid his arm over her shoulder. "This way..."The man seemed too shock to react, so he simply followed her along.
Dread was a feeling Tanjiro was used to feeling. The dread of losing his only family member, the dread of demon hunters finding them and going for the kill, the dread of failing and not being able to defeat Muzan, and the dread of snapping and finally eating humans.
He refused to taste blood, knowing very well a drop would be enough to take away the trenquility his mind found. So when he has nothing to do, and that the hunger is unbearable he sits through. No matter how much that seem normal for his kind - Man eating beast that never felt an ounce of regret, his kind - he would not entertain the thought as that only filled him with a cold rage.
Which is why the upper moon’s rant about weaklings makes him cold. How he speaks of people weaker than him as weaklings infuriates him, and how he has no regards of life sicken him.
He simply tighten his grip on his swords, and lunges. He isn’t suprised when his sword is blocked, he easily gets away by kicking his opponent in the chin while doing a backflip. He lands in a crouch, and dodges on pure instinct the waves of destructive blow Akaza throws at him.
A punch is thrown at him, but he pushes to the side with his left hand, the right one swinging towards the other’s neck. Waltz is dodged, but not completely as he smells blood and an ear is flying through the air. Parhelion rainbow has him avoid losing a part of his head, and he is kicking Akaza away for space and time.
I can barely keep up. He thinks as he keeps his face devoid of emotion to avoid giving away his struggle. I might have to use it...I just need to buy time until dawn. Not to defeat him, I just slow him down it should be okay.
He is running at the upper moon again, ignoring any attempt at discussion. Like I thought, he switches from Scorching Crimson Mirror to Shining Ray of Grace.
He is able to predict moves thanks to his compass. He feels his ribs cracks, but immediately heal from the kick. Nii-chan! Duck!
He does so, and can easily imagine his sister kicking the upper moon in the face. With her blood demon technique. He adds when he smells fire in the air. His little sister stands next to him, ready to fight at any moment.
We are only buying time for the sun to rise, no need to win this fight.
She nods, and changes her stance to accomdate him.
They charge.
Akaza hadn’t expected to find the traitors at the train, nor had he expected to have the chance to fight a pillar so close to limitless potential. He had been enjoying hisself in the fight against Kyojuorou and been willing to drag his corpse to Muzan so he could become a demon.
Fighting the traitors was not in his plans, and so was being beaten. The girl threw a kicked he blocked, but he still got burned by her fire. The boy was far more dangerous, the sword slowing his regeneration by minutes. He threw several attacks, and manged to cut off the girl’s arms.
He felt something pulling at his hair, something digging into his ribs and a hot liquid dripping on him.
....Oh.
Is what he thinks when he looks up and see the girl again, one of her hand is pulling at his hair, the other is held higher above her head as blood drips on him. Her heels are digging into his ribs as she has him a death hug from behind. Her blood had solidified to keep her together.
Realizations hits him. Her blood.
Then fire.
He roars, feeling his cells burn as he screams. He trashes in her grip, punching her as hard as he can as he tries to get her off! It burns!
He punches her in the face, the satisfying CRUNCH of broken bone barely background noises to his burning ears.
More blood.
The fire grows.
He screams louder.
He is dying. And it burns!!!!
He barely notices the boy running at him, he barely sees the swing aimed for his neck, barely makes the difference between the fire of the boy’s swords and the fire STILL BURNING HIM.
He still notices, and he notices how much more painful it is when the two fires combine. He dodges by stepping out of the way. The sword cutting his neck, but not to deep. He then tears the girl off him, and throws her at her brother with unnescessary force.
Nezuko's body is thrown at her brother, and the boy catches her but is still thrown back. "Are you okay?" She nods light-headed, but she forces herself to stay awake.
She turns her attention towards the upper moon, and she watches as he claws at his own flesh.
"Our fire combined. What he is feeling is both of our flames." Her brother says, understanding her curiosity. She noticed the flames weren’t of a pinkish red anymore, adding to her brother's explaination.
"The sun is about to rise. We should hurry and--"They are dodging a technique without thinking. He is panicking. He is just trying to buy time and distract us to eascape.
She is running at him, but she suddenly feels non of her arms anymore. She solidiefies her blood without thinking. Her arms re-attaching to her body. She looks ahead and sees her brother running, his sword raised as he is swinging down. She turns to look over the horizon, and back at her brother.
She then sees a fist destroy part of his head. The right part of his head. The brain damage has him freeze, his body lacking knowledge in this conditions.
She looks at the fleeing upper moon, her passed out brother, and the rising sun. She makes her choice as soon as she hears the THUD of a body.
Thunder breathing first form modified, she is speeding towards her brother. Thunder flashing arrow. She grabs him roughly, but firmly, and she takes a turn for the forest next to them. She hides behind the thickest tree, and covers her shrinking brother with her haori.
She ignores the call from the pillar, her brother’s life first.
So, your thoughts? I pushed myself abit because it’s been a while. Everything happening was just confusing. I hope everyone of you is safe and sound, and ask you to be careful. Wash your hands, and wait for the next chapters because I found my fire again.
