The kids were eating out at the restaurant in Sombor for dinner time,
10 miles away from their five bedroom house in Sombor, Nikola and his girlfriend Jamal and the kids were eating out. The people there in Sombor enjoyed the sightseeing and Jamal had eaten 2 plates of Cevapi Sausages with fried rice. While eating dinner, Nikola explains to Jamal about the situation with his father.
Nikola Jokić POV:
I decided to explain about what the heck had happened about how my dad was scolding me for no reason at all and yet, it can be a matter of stuff whatsoever so Jamal realized how it happened. The things you were about to hear would be traumatizing somehow.
Jamal Murray: So Babe, what's happening back then when we met while we played together for Denver Nuggets?
Nikola Jokić: Well in the meantime, I was having dinner with you at the Filipino Restaurant after the game and then right after we had fried rice and Fried chicken, my dad was asking me about how I ordered a shaved ice cream thing. He was like: Zašto se uopšte trudiš? (Why do you even try?) I was telling him this: Tata, koji je razlog da se uznemirim kada jedemo sve što želim odmah nakon večere, kao da nisi video koliko sam bio srećan jer sam pokušavao da imam vezu sa hranom samo zato što sam nacrtan. Denver Nuggets-u, poslednji put sam pio koks i drugim rečima: Tata! Šta je s tobom? (Dad, what's the reason for getting upset when it comes to eating whatever I want right after we had a big meal, like didn't you see how happy I was because I was trying to have a relationship with the food just because I was drafted to Denver Nuggets, the last time I had coke and in other words: Dad! What on earth Is up with you?)
Jamal Murray: Geez! My heart feels for you Babe. I'm sorry that your dad was being like this when we had a dinner date at the Filipino Restaurant in Denver when I was 15 weeks pregnant with Jace and I was crying because I was like: I feel bad for you.
Nikola tears up knowing that his father Branislav was mad at Nikola because he realized that he wasn't watching what he was eating,
Nikola Jokić: I wanted to yell at my dad for saying this stuff to me because I had to admit that when it comes to obesity and some stuff, my dad went through it while growing up in Serbia. Things like that happens as well when he was my age.
Jamal Murray: Oh dang. But did he cry to when he say that?
Nikola Jokić: I believe he did because he felt guilty about it and when I told him what you said was toxic and I had to admit that I was mad at him.
Jamal Murray: Oh wow.
Nikola Jokić: I know what it feels when parents always tell the kids about the weight and stuff, which is very unfortunate to say that in front of people.
Jamal Murray: I understand. Besides, I was on the same situation with you when I was pregnant with Vlade before and I ended up craving for pastries but my dad was like this as well.
Nikola Jokić: Oh wow.
Jamal Murray: It sounds unfortunate isn't it?
Nikola Jokić: Yup.
Jamal Murray: but at least he apologized, right?
Nikola Jokić: Yes.
Jamal Murray: That's good.
Vladè: That Deda. He was something else.
Jamal Murray: I can tell.
Jace: Tata, žao mi je što ti se ovo dogodilo. (Dad, I'm sorry that this happened to you.)
Nikola Jokić: U redu je. Dešava se, znate kad god radite, možete jesti šta god želite, ali nikada se ne ograničavajte, ok? (That's okay. It happens, you know whenever you guys do, You guys can eat whatever you like, but don't ever restrict yourself, okay?)
Jace and Vlade: Okay Tata.
Instead of getting upset about it, They decided to finish the dinner before going home. After eating out at the Restaurant, Nikola is still crying despite of his big fight with Branislav.
Jace was sitting beside Nikola along with Vlade.
Jace: Ne opet tata? (Not again dad?)
Vladè: O Bože. To je bilo pogubno za tatu. (Oh my. That was devastating Dad.)
Nikola Jokić: Ono što je stvarno ironično je da sam se svađao sa ocem i nije se sve tako dobro završilo. (What's really Ironic is that I had a big fight with my dad and it didn't end so well.)
Vladè: *This is getting out of hand*
Jace: Kuya, you know what happens when we tried to make Tata to stop crying but he couldn't.
Vladè watches his father crying on a pillow.
Jace: Ne brinite, mama će zameniti pokrivač jastuka i oprati drugi. (Not to worry, Mama will replace the pillow sheet and wash the other one.)
Jace goes to the kitchen to get Cookie dough Ice cream and filled the bowl with Chocolate syrup.
Jace: Evo ti tata. Zbog toga ćete se osećati bolje. (Here you are dad. That'll make you feel better.)
Nikola Jokić: Hvala Jace. (Thanks Jace.)
Jace: Nema na čemu. (You're welcome.)
Jace and Vlade decided to give their dad some space so Jamal, Vlade and Jace taught Gabo how to walk since his birthday is coming up and Gabo will turn three.
Branislav comes to the house and explained to Nikola that he was wrong and yet, he apologized to him. Nikola gave his father a hug and later on, he joined watching TV. Jamal, Jace, Vlade and Gabo came to join them as well. In the end, they forgave Branislav.
