One week after WarGames, NXT GM William Regal announced a mixed tag team match for tonight's main event; NXT Champion Adam Cole and NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler takes on Kenji Cruz and Kairi Sane.
In the locker room, Kenji wasn't a bit too pumped for the match as he wanted to go after the NXT Tag titles with Kushida. Tommaso came in to the Samurai's locker room.
Tommaso: you know how much I want Goldie back, and I can see how disappointed you are
Kenji: I'm aware of your situation; you had to relinquish your NXT title due to injury, and since you returned, your eyes were set on it and I had my sight set on the tag titles
Tommaso: you took the win for our team with that high risk corkscrew move; if I did that, I might injure my neck again
Kenji: what are you saying?
Tommaso: you pinned Adam Cole, the NXT Champion; which may put in a line for a title shot
Kenji sighed and shook his head.
Tommaso: look; Johnny and I planned to reunite #DIY and pursue the tag titles; look man, you have a bright future ahead in your NXT career and you made a name for yourself at WarGames, so it's only right that you have an opportunity
The Black Heart held his hand out; the Samurai nodded and shook Tommaso's hand as he patted his back.
Tommaso: it's your time to break the Undisputed Era's prophecy
Kenji: thank you
The Black Heart nodded and left the locker room for the Samurai to focus on his mixed tag match tonight.
As he went back to stretching and shadow boxing; he heard another knock on the door.
Kenji: who is it?
No answer from the person. Kenji went back to working out, but heard another knock.
Kenji: the door is open, you can come in
He was now confused, so he went to open the door. As he opened it, he was ambushed and attacked by his cute and beautiful Pirate Princess girlfriend with kisses all over.
Kenji: well hello to you too
He carried Kairi to the couch and sat down, but the Pirate Princess didn't release her grip. She clung onto him like a spider monkey.
Kairi: I'm teaming up with you!
She smiled and snuggled her head into his shoulder.
Kenji: I'm excited too, and we're facing the champions
Kairi placed her hands on Kenji's cheeks. A cute smile was plastered on her face.
Kenji: what's with the cute smile?
Kairi put her finger over his mouth to quiet him.
Kairi: shh, don't talk just enjoy
She giggled and leaned in close to Kenji's face before connecting their lips. Their innocent kiss turned into a heated make out session. Kairi went down kissing on the Samurai's neck while Kenji put his hand underneath her shirt. The Pirate Princess pulled back all blushing and giggling.
Kairi: oh, someone is getting frisky
Kenji had a mischievous smirk on his face.
Kenji: as much as I want to do this; we're putting our jobs on the line because we're in public
Kairi smiled and then whispered in his ear.
Kairi: how about after our match, we go back to your room and continue from there?
