I walked up to my classroom door, then I took a deep, heavy breath as I opened the door quietly. I felt my heart race with such anxiety, along with this twisting feeling in my stomach. I fastly walked to an empty desk in the back of the room. I felt all eyes on me as I sat down in the seat behind the desk, setting my bag down on the floor next to me. My eyes darted around the room in an anxious manner. I hated this feeling so much.

My anxious trance broke when I heard the deep voice of my teacher say "Well who do we have here?" I felt my cheeks burn as all the attention landed on me. As I looked at him barley managed to shutter out, "O-oh I'm Lucy Carter. Sorry I'm late I-" before I could finish my sentence, he ripped the tarty slip from my hand and walked back to the front of the class.I felt like crying already. This is not how it was supposed to go, it was supposed to be a good day. I bit my lower lip in attempt to hold back my tears and sat back in my chair trying to breath slowly, but every time I looked around another person was whispering and shooting glaces at me laughing; I didn't know how much longer I could take it.

I wanted to run away, get out, that is all that was on my mind. I didn't hear a word the teacher said, my mind could only focus on the pounding in my ears and throat. I just wanted to feel safe, I wanted to be with Tyler, so this would all go away. The bell rang after sometime, releasing me from my depressing, anxious trance. I grabbed my bag and walked out into the hallway slowly. I looked at the once empty halls now filled with so many people. I tried to find Tyler, but he was nowhere to be seen. I couldn't do this, I couldn't be here.

I ran outside and the tears I was holding back started to flood out. I crossed my arms, and looked down as the tears I shed fell on the cement. I wandered around for awhile just wishing to have Tyler make this all go away. I walked around a corner of the school building and my wish came true, sorta. I saw Tyler sitting on the grass under a tree, he had something in his hand. I walked up to him and as I got closer, I saw he was smoking a cigarette. Tyler looked up at me and his face instantly turned red as he blew out the smoke from his cigarette in shock, like a reflex almost.

There was just silence and awkward staring for about ten minutes before I burst out into laughter. Tyler looked at me confused, then gave me a faint grin. "I didn't think I would see you out here. Shouldn't you be in class Missy?" he said sarcastically as he grinned up at me. I smirked as I sat next to him and said. "I could say the same for you mister." We giggled then sighed and Tyler said to me in a generally worried voice, "But seriously Lucy, what's going on? Why are you skipping class?" My expression quickly changed as I looked down. I then said in a small sad tone. "It was to much."

Tyler then looked at me with not pity, but care and he brushed his fingers through my hair. My face turned a light pink as I got closer to him. I then said thinking back to earlier, "Hey, Tyler I didn't know you smoked." Tyler had this look of guilt and worry on his face, but he wore a awkward grin as if he was nervous about me knowing this. "U-um yeah, nasty habit I picked up when I was younger. Sorry you had to find out this way." he said a bit shaky. I giggled and grabbed the cigarette pack from his pocket and observed the box. "H-hey Lucy!" he said a bit shocked and worried. "Oh, you're fine, I'm just looking, besides I don't care that you smoke." When I said that, Tyler had this look of relief and sat back on the tree.

The pack of cigarettes was red and white, it had five cigarettes left in the pack. I looked over at Tyler, he was just resting on the tree now with his eyes closed. I looked at the five cigarettes for a little while before deciding to take one, now making it four. "Lighter please." I said to Tyler reaching my hand out toward him. Tyler looked at me in aw, then he burst out in laughter and said. "Have you even smoked before?" his voice was all over from his laughter. I blushed and then said shyly "Once a long time ago, but that's it." I lied, I had never smoked before in my life.

After Tyler's giant laughing spree, he handed me his lighter. It was black with flames on it, it was just your normal cigarette lighter.  I put the lighter to the end of the cigarette and light it, and breathed in inhaling the smoke into my lungs. I let out a big cough along with smoke from my mouth and nose as I exhaled. I then laughed as did Tyler, and we both smoked under the tree. You really are a wish come true.
