It was night by the time Tyler and I left the hallway to his apartment. We walked outside, heading toward the coffee shop where we had our first date, this was kind of out second in a way. It was cold that night even though it was still summer September wasn't that far away. I was hoping for a nice warm summer breeze, but I was instead freezing to death. I crossed my arms and walked closely next to Tyler.
Tyler looked over to me then stopped. Tyler than put his jacket onto my shoulders and wrapped me up in it. "You were shivering he said" softly into my ear, "I hope that's okay." I felt my face burn up as it turned bright red, as did his. I smiled as I looked up at him "Thank you Tyler." I leaned in and kissed his ice cold cheek and his face got even more red as I did so. I didn't even realize that I was shivering, as we walked I held onto the jacket smiling and walked close to Tyler once more.
We walked up to the coffee shop as we shivered from the cold, but when we got there, everything was shut off and the sign on the door read "closed". I looked down sadly as I read the sign shivering from the cold. "Damn it." I said softly under my breath. Tyler just stared off into space for while as I looked down at the ground not knowing where to go or what to do from here.
Tyler finally broke from his trance after a little while and looked towards me with a little smirk upon his lips, what was he up too I thought. Tyler stood along the side walk, putting his arm out for a taxi. "T-tyler what are you doing?" I said utterly confused, I mean where else was there to go at this hour. "Getting a taxi for us silly." he said with a grin. I looked at him with confusion and suspicion, what's his game. I walked up to Tyler and then out at the night sky then back to Tyler as I said "Where are we going Tyler?" he looked over at me and smiled as he pet the top of my head. "It's a surprise, you will just have to wait." I looked over for a moment then heard wheels roll up too us.
Tyler firmly grabbed my wrist and dragged me into the taxi. "Stay here Lucy I gotta tell the driver something." Tyler shut my door and walked over to the drivers window. The driver rolled his window down and Tyler leaned in and whispered into his ear, I don't know what he told him, but I can only assume the surprise destination. Tyler got in the taxi and sat next to me in the back seat. He looked over at me and smiled as he bulked himself into the seat. "I really think you are going to like where we are going." he said with hope. "We'll see." I said slyly with a bit of a giggle.
I watched out the window as the car drove to this mystery place I was being taken too, but my mind wasn't focused on what was outside. I was thinking about Tyler and all that has happened over the past few weeks, I couldn't understand what I was feeling toward him, I just knew it was good. Suddenly I felt Tyler's hand on my shoulder, I looked over to him slightly blushing. "Close your eyes." Tyler said kindly, but a bit firm. I didn't say anything and I closed my eyes as I felt the car slow down.
I heard Tyler's car door open and his foot steps heading toward my door. I head my door open, then I felt Tyler take my hand as he lead me to this place he wanted to take me. Even though I couldn't see it, the place felt oddly familiar. Suddenly we stopped, "Okay, open your eyes." Tyler said with excitement. I opened my eyes and what I saw made my heart pound.
We were in the back room of the flower shop where we met. Tyler looked at me, his face was red and he wore a hopeful smile on his face. "What's your favorite song?" He said walking closer to me. I was taken aback by his question, not expecting that to be what he said, I answered. "U-um I Swear, I guess. I'm not sure who the artist is though. Why do you ask?" I asked with confusion and general curiosity.
Tyler smirked and he scrolled through his phone, I was feeling at a loss, what was he doing? Then in just one second he made that night perfect. He set his phone down and smiled as he put his hands around my waist. "Wh-what are you doing?" I said overly flustered. Then the music began to play off of his phone, and to my surprise it was the song I said was my favorite. "We're gonna dance of course." he said with his cute smirk. "But I suck at dancing." I said nervously and I placed my arms around his neck. "Your not so bad." He said with a bit of a giggle as we swayed back and forth, I smiled and looked down blushing dark cheery red and I was in Tyler's arms throughout the night.
