'A New Start Of Friendship'

Surbhi's POV

I was checking on some patients. It was 5:30 pm.

Half an hour later we would meet at the food court. I cursed myself for thinking anything stupid.

 Really Surbhi. You considered that girl to be his girlfriend and you didn't stop there. Fiancée!! Like seriously. You made yourself a joker infront of Mahir and his sister. What they both might be thinking about you. It was hell embarrassing moment.

But I feel good now. I didn't feel annoyed or irritated now like the one I was feeling when I saw Trisha. But why am I feeling good now.. 

Ugghh you stupid girl Surbhi.

I was checking on some of my regular patients in cabin.

It was 6 pm. After an hour my shift was going to over and I would go home. Time for the patients was over. Now I've to check only admitted patients but there was a knock on my cabin door. .

"Come in" I called

"Anjali you. I thought it was any patient" I told

"No no doctor it's me" she replied chuckling.

"Is that so my dear patient" I asked and we both laughed.

Yeah we both laugh on every silly thing.

"Okay. I just came to say bye.I'm going it's 6:00" said Anjali

"Oh okay. Call the driver uncle once. You have his number naa" I asked

"Yeah yeah. Okay bye. See you tomorrow" she told .

"Bye. Take care" I replied.

She went and I got busy in my work again.  I was checking on a file of a patient when the door knocked again.

I know it's Anjali. Now what she forgot!

"Come in Anjali yar!! And don't knock the door again and again and what has been left... " I looked up from my file.

Anjali started wearing black men's shoes. 

 Shut up Surbhi .

And I looked up finally.

" Mahir !! " I mumbled

He was standing there looking at me with his hands in the pockets of his trousers and eyebrows up.

Oh shit! How can I forget this. We decided to meet  at 6.  I looked at my watch. 

 6:10 pm.

" 6 pm sharply . " he mocked in the same position.

"Emm.. Actually..I.. I forget. I'm sorry "I  apologized 

"Now come?" he told

"I've just 20 minutes left "I said

" Enough for me" he muttered

"What!!!! " I asked

" I.....I mean enough for a cup of coffee" he said

"Um, Okay" I told

"Come then let's move" he said and I closed the fine leaving with him for cafeteria !

"2 cup coffee." he ordered in the canteen as we reached.

"Doctor Surbhi  you'll take coffee ? " the man asked surprisingly

"What happened.  Don't say you don't drink coffee" Mahir asked                             
"" No.. it's not like that. Actually I prefer chai (tea) over coffee" I told                                                 
"What!! You too drink chai" he asked surprising                                                                                                   
"You too means" I asked confusingly                                                                                                         
  "Actually I even prefer chai but I thought you might.. Actually I've seen  girls preferring coffee over tea so..." he said 

"This girl is different " I told laughing

" Surely is " he replied

"What " I asked aagain.

"No,I mean that I'm seeing" he said

"Uncle two cup tea with strong ginger. " I told

We then went and sat on chairs.  The cafeteria was empty with just sounds of chairs that were sliding.

" Comfortable " he asked

"Mahir. I come here regularly.. So it should be me to ask you if you are comfortable" I asked

"Totally comfortable "he replied

Now What!!

I chatter non stop all the time but now there was an awkward silence. I don't know what to say. But atleast we have to say something.

" So" we both said in unison

"actually you" again same time

"You say" again.

  Oh god!!

I raised my hand and said him to speak in gestures.

"No no you say.  We are gentlemen.. Ladies first ... " he said dramatically and  I laughed while our chai came.

" I was just saying that I've talked to Dr. Bhatia. Your sister will get discharge day after tomorrow morning "I  told 

Soon his face fell...What happened to him.

" Mahir. You should be happy... Why are you frowning "I asked

" Oh no nothing.  Just remembered something " he said. 

 He behaves really strange sometimes!!

We talked on normal things like family and schooling. And when I told him about bhai and dad he said that he knows them.

" So you are my father's very good friend's daughter. How could not I guess firstly Surbhi Birla. Sister of Deepak Birla" he said

"Similarly as I didn't knew Ram uncle is your dad" I told

"we both are idiots " I added laughing.

Soon our teas were over and it was 6:35 so We came out of the cafeteria.

"So...I'll take your leave madam" he said

"sure sir" I laughed. 

We bid our byes and went to our respective works once again. 

After my work was over I went to home had dinner and went to my bed. 

 Hope that tomorrow ends the same.
