'One Step Closer'

Surbhi's POV

The London times were so good. I'll always remember each and every moment spend there. Moments spend with Mahir. I'm missing all that so much. Everyday I see the pics that we clicked together. Everyday a smile appears on my face. It have become a routine for me to talk with him.

Mom saw my pics in the phone and asked if I was roaming around in the city with Mahir.

Firstly I thought she'll be angry on me. But to my surprise she said me that I got a protective person behind me. I smiled inwardly.

Mahir... Without spending much time with them, made a place in everyone's heart.

It had been fifteen days already!!

My exams were starting from tomorrow.  Then finally results after a month and I would be gynecologist. I had studied hard now. It.was eleven in the night and I had to wake up early. I didn't even know when I drifted in sleep.

Suddenly my phone buzzed.

Caller ID showed my favorite Name. Mahir.

I saw the time. It was freaking four.

Why He's calling at this hour.

Is he okay.

"Hey Mahir. What happened you okay " I asked in sleepy voice.

" I'm very much fine. I knew you'll sleep. That's why I called you to wake up and start studying. " he said

He called me for this. I smiled at these gestures.

" Mahir. Are you mad. You called me at this hour for waking we up. Idiot. You spoiled your sleep due to me" I said

"Hey. Don't sound low okay. I'm happy that you woke up in seconds due to this. And now I know there's no sleep at all in your eyes. So just wake up and study" he told

"Thankyou So much Mahir. " I thanked

" You're saying me thankyou then I should start counting how much thankyou and sorry I've to say you. " he replied

" Fine. Now just go and sleep Mahir. You've ruined your sleep " I said

" No Surbhi. I've not ruined my sleep. Okay. So stop bothering about it. And focus on what is important " he said in a bit strict tone.

" Okay sir. As you say. But you've not wished me all the best" I told

"Surbhi. I'm going to call or message you again before your exam starts okay. " he said and here I was smiling like idiots.

" Bye Surbhi . " he said

" Mahir. Again Bye" I frowned

" I forget sorry. Talk to you later surbhi " he said and I smiled

" Yeah. See yaa" I said and cut the call.

Yes I told Mahir never to say bye. I never want Mahir to say me Bye... That's why I told him to say me talk to you later or something like that.... In a hope to talk soon.

Come on Surbhi. Come out of your thoughts and start revising.

Soon time flew and it was eight. I bathed and got ready for exam.

"Mummy. Papa. I'm ready. I'm going to college okay. " I said

" Surbhi. Stop. Come and have your breakfast firstly. " dad told

" No Papa. I'm not hungry at all" I said and suddenly my phone buzzed.

It was Mahir's message. A smile appeared on my face.
