"Post Wedding Rituals"

MAHIR'S POV

Damn!! It was so so much difficult. I couldn't control my own tears! I've never seen anyone cry so badly. I know no one could see Surbhi cry and that was the reason that even Mom and Dad were also teary eyed and Aanand.. that man won't have cried even seeing Priya cry on her wedding but was crying right now seeing Surbhi.

I don't know from where God gave me the strength that I controlled my emotions and made the environment a little light. I didn't want to interrupt in between her family time but then I thought that now I'm family and it's my right as well as duty.

I sat on the floor and opened my arms for her. May be that's what she needed that time badly. She hugged me tightly and cried saying only that she don't want to leave. It looked as if a five year old kid is hugging me and saying me that she don't want to go to a boarding school. I rubbed her back and promised everyone that nothing will change.

After making her sit in boat, I looked at everyone.

"Take care of her" Mummy said and I nodded touching her feet!

"I know you love her very much. But I too love her unconditionally! Never let a problem touch her!" Deepak bhaiya told and I nodded 

"You're her brother and you've all rights to even beat me up if there's any problem that's caused by me to her! And I'll gladly get beaten " I said smiling to lighten his mood and he smiled

"I know that situation is never gonna come. Just take care both of you and yes..if she cried more now..make her eat chocolate cake! She can eat it even while crying" Bhaiya chuckled wiping his tears and I nodded hugging him wiping my own tears!

"Take care of everyone" I mumbled and went inside the boat and it started! She was seeing everyone till her vision got blur and they were off her sight.

She hugged me and cried while I hugged her more tightly and let her cry her emotions out.

The boatman was seeing us smiling.

After some ten minutes we reached there. Surbhi's head was resting on my shoulder.

"Surbhi...we're here" I said and she looked at me.

She looked at me and smiled.

"I'm sorry.. I couldn't control myself" She Said and I wiped her tears away by my thumbs.

"It's okay baby. It's natural. You can cry till you want..but after today..you'll not okay! " I replied and she nodded

"You okay now.. Or otherwise we can take a U turn and leave you there again " I said and she chuckled

"That's what looks good on you my wife " I whispered and she smiled.

Everyone reached here before us for the other rituals.

I came out of the boat and helped Surbhi. As soon as we stepped in everyone was shouting and cheering out our names. Drums were playing and Surbhi looked at them smiling.

Mom did our aarti and then we were to step in.

"Okay children. Now the time for Pagelagani (The bride is introduced to each and every member of the groom's family and then she receives blessings and gifts from them.) " said dad and we were made to sit .

Firstly dad offered her a bag full of money and she had to take out money from it without looking inside the bag! It was also a ritual. She did it and then one by one starting from the oldest couple of our family to the most newly wed couple came and wished us giving us gifts.
