"Come on, catch me, Fii!" a familiar voice echoed through the nothingness.

Fii opened her eyes and found herself outside in the forest. Not just any forest, but the mountain forest. Her home. In front of her was a young harpy boy with coal black feathers and black eyes. He was excitedly jumping from side to side.

"Corvus? Why are you so excited?" Fii wondered, "and why am I in the forest...?"

"You promised to play with me and the others! We're playing tag, don't you remember? It's your turn, big sis!" Corvus laughed as he flew away in a clumsy manner.

"(That's right... I wanted to play tag with the hatchlings... But something feels... off)"

"Why are you taking so long, Fii?" Corvus yelled from afar.

"Sorry!" Fii apologized and pursued Corvus.

She flew into the same direction as he did, but couldn't find him anywhere. Where did he go? Fii landed on the ground and began to search the bushes. Maybe he hid inside one of them. But just as her feet hit the ground a blunt bear trap caught her foot. Humans then jumped from the trees and then suddenly, darkness.

Fii opened her eyes and jumped up from her bed in shock. She was back in her and Sevara's room. Back in the mansion. It was just a dream.

"(If I stay here any longer Corvus and the others will get worried! They probably already are!)"

On the next day Sevara and Fii were both assigned to the gardens. The earth was still wet from the rain of yesterday. They were collecting branches near the garden walls. Sevara was doing most of the work, while Fii's eyes kept wandering towards the walls.

"(I can't fly with this collar around my neck... But what if...)... Sevara?"

"Yes, Fii?"

"Will... Will you help me out with something?"

"Sure. What do you want me to do?" Sevara asked.

"Well... Could you help me get over the wall?"

"Huh...? Wait, what?! You want to run away again!? B-but why? A-am I that annoying...?" Sevara began to tear up.

"No no no no! It's not because of you! But I have to get back to my family. Please understand that," Fii explained.

Sevara wiped off her tears and replied, "Okay... I'll help you... B-but only if you promise me you'll come back!"

"Th-that's... *sigh*... F-fine... I promise I'll come back," Fii promised.

That made Sevara feel better and she agreed to help Fii. When no one was looking they snuck closer to the wall and Sevara used her long serpent like body to climb up the steep wall. Afterwards Fii slowly climbed up on Sevara's long body like a ladder. Her claws felt uncomfortable for Sevara whenever she took another step upwards, but eventually she reached the top and Sevara went back down.

Sevara waved at Fii and Fii smiled back while waving her wings. She then jumped down the other side began to glide to the ground. She was free. Finally she escaped the mansion.

While she was happy to taste freedom once again, she also felt bad for Sevara. Fii didn't plan to come back to the mansion. She had no time to waver in thought. If she didn't hurry up she might get caught again.

Fii was still unable to fly so she ran as fast as she could to the forest. As she reached the first trees she looked back at the mansion. No one seemed to have noticed her escape yet.
Fii entered the forest and began her long way home.
