The negotiations ended successfully and it was time for the great banquet. Dozens of beautifully decorated tables adorned the great hall and an equally impressive collection of the finest dishes stood at each side.

Not only the participants of the negotiations were allowed to be at the banquet. There were many other noble families and knights joining in on the festivities.

Fii and Viridia were sitting at a table in the middle of the hall and waited for the servants to bring them their food. Everyone was in a happy mood, except Viridia since Lioneres was sitting next to her and tried to flirt with her. What also made her nervous was that she couldn't see Cheshire anywhere in the room.

Jackal also noticed that the neko was nowhere to be seen and left the hall in search of Cheshire. But the festivities didn't stop just because one or two guests were missing.

Once the servants had given everyone their food the king stood up from his seat to speak a toast.
While that happened, Jackal wandered through the hallways of the castle.

"I have a bad feeling about all of this... Cheshire, you sly dog of a cat, what are you planning..." Jackal wondered and then Cheshire suddenly appeared next to him.

"I don't know. Why don't you tell me?" He smiled after surprising Jackal with his almost too convenient appearance.

"Cheshire! What is your game? I know that you cannot be trusted! I've seen your harem sneaking around the castle earlier this morning!"

"Oh, so you did notice them? But there is no need to worry! I do not plan to do anything bad myself and such is for my darlings," Cheshire smiled, "some of them just can't live without me, so they followed me🎵"

"Just because you take yourself and your harem out of it, that doesn't mean you'll use something else. A 'bird' perhaps?" Jackal said ominously and grabbed the hilt of his platinum sword, ready to draw it.

"The Vorpal Blade. You're still holding onto it... The 'bird' is in her cage, locked up at home," Cheshire assured Jackal with a smile.

Cheshire knew that his cover was blown, but didn't show it, "That reminds me! I've met this really interesting person today! He knows how to make trades with very profitable results. He loves my rhymes! And do you know which one is his favorite?"

"Thanks to all of you we could keep the peace between our nations! I will not prolong your dinner any further! Please enjoy the food and thank you all for your help! Enjoy!" The king finished his speech and sat back down.

Everyone now began to eat, except for Fii who was looking for her cutlery on the floor after she had lost it when she tried to pick it up with her wings.

"Isn't the food delicious, Ms. Vandela? Although it doesn't contain nearly as much flavor as your beauty does!" Lioneres tried to charm Viridia.

"The food is indeed delicious, but hearing your voice almost makes me want to spit it right back up!" Viridia growled.

"I have no time for your jokes, Cheshire! What are you planning!" Jackal shouted angrily.

"There is no reason to be so angry, my dear old friend! Don't you want to hear the poem?"

"Just shut up already!" Jackal exclaimed as he drew his blade.

However, when he tried to cut Cheshire the neko vanished and reappeared at the end of the hallway, dancing and singing.
