Rebirth pt.2

"Father!" "Father!" the boy cried as he ran down the palace steps towards the lifeless body. "Father..." The boy forced through his flowing tears as he knelt next to the body I was holding in my arms, blood in my hands. His head suddenly snapped up towards mine, fire in his eyes "you, you did this!" He yelled at me. I was taken back "no, no you don't understand" I forced through my drying lips "it's not what it looks like". The young prince stood up, boldly showing his strong posture "guards! Arrest this murderer!" He cried. Within seconds there were soldiers surrounding me, their bayonets shinning in the daylight, edging closer towards me. Strong arms clamped around me and pulled me away from the body, leaving the small boy lying on his fathers chest in tears. I yelled and struggled but to no use, I was being dragged away, echoing my screams throughout the palace. Screams of confusion, screams of pain... Screams of anger.

I suddenly awoke, gasping for air. I could feel the soft sand below me, the waves lapping against my wet body. I sat up and looked around, trying to make sense of the situation. in the distance I could see the huge tower far out in the sea, the hole to my cell still exposed, making me once again question how it was created. A sudden flush of pain swept through me, causing my body to tense up. I looked down to notice the source of the agony, a sharp rock sticking out of my chest. It was pierced through the part of my torso still covered in human flesh, causing ice cold blood to flow down my body. Without hesitation I ripped the rock from my chest, causing air to enter the wound and sending even more agony through my body. I sat for a few moments, holding my wound to stop the flow of blood. However I quickly ignored the pain when my attention was caught on something else. A bright white light which was shimmering in front of me, fluctuating in its distinctiveness. Its form kept changing, it would grow and then shrink, stretch and then compact. It was completely mesmerizing. However the light started to take a new form, one of human shape and size. Before long there was a glowing little girl in front of me, light illuminating from all over her body. We stayed as we were for a few seconds, exchanging looks, my dark eyes meeting her light ones, no sound being made. The girl suddenly let out a sweet little giggle and skipped into the tree line behind her. I quickly chased after the girl, wanting to know who or what she was. I ran through the trees after her but was disappointed, the only thing that met me was the darkness of the woods.
