Friends (Mr.L/Luigi x shy reader.)

MeganRomero0 suggested a Luigi/Mr.L x reader friendship oneshot. Im going to attempt to make this a gender neutral one-shot. Okay now that the intro is done and done, let's get this one-shot going. Let's a-go.

Well this is the life isn't this. You had a fairly nice home, an amazing job, a working car, and a really really REALLY loving family. The only problem is that you were extremely shy and didn't really have any friends. It wasn't a big problem to you, but you wished you had someone to talk to sometimes who's not your amazing mother. You didn't really want your nervous stutter either

You walked into work casually with a smile on your face. You worked at a lavish library with a second floor and elevator. You flicked on the lights. The library lights buzzed as you gently set your bag and lunch pail on your messy work counter.

You often had a few 'usuals' coming into the library every morning during the opening hours.

"Hey Jamie. Hey Autumn. Hey Luigi." You waved at your 'usuals'. Two of them waved back, while one of them responded to you.

"Hey Y/N." Luigi waved back while attempting to carrie a stack of book. He popped up at the counter and popped out behind the stack of books.

"Can I return these books?" He asked holding a slightly large stack of novels. You nodded slightly. He was much more brave today. Lucky him. You wished you were brave enough to talk to him normally. Unlike you he got rid of his studder. You took in the checked out books and scanned them.

"O-okay you're all clear." You stuttered. You turned around and put his books on a shelving cart. While you were distracted, Luigi ran off in the back to pick out a couple more books. Well the next hour or so was quite boring so you picked up your phone and scrolled through Wuttpad. You picked out a oneshot fanfiction of your favorite characters. Another hour and an extra twenty chapters later, Luigi returned with a few books.

"Is t-this it?" He nodded. "O-okay then."
You took the books and scanned each books barcode.

"The Legend of the Seven Stars. Check. The History of the Pi'illo Islands. That's a really good one. Check. Geography of the Bean Bean Kingdom. Wheres that place located? Check. How to Take Care of a Alter-Ego. Check-wait why would Luigi read this?" You thought quietly.

"Okay h-here you go. Here's y-your books." You said. He smiled.

"Hey I'm inviting a few of my friends to a party and I was wondering..." He twirled his thumbs nervously. "Since you are a friend of mine. I was wondering if you wanted to come."

"Of...of course I would love to." You smiled. You did have at least a friend now. He told you the important details and that it was tomorrow at 5 pm. He also gave you his phone number and put you in a group chat with seven other people. A few hours later it was closing time and you packed up and said goodbye to the 'usuals'.

You had a plan for tomorrow, but you had to sleep first. Night was falling and you finally were relaxed. You got into your favorite pjs and fell asleep.

You went to the mall and decided to pick out a nice outfit. Not too fancy. Not too casual. Okay. Also maybe you should get a pretzel too...Maybe. After an hour or so, you finished shopping and went back to your home. You got ready around 3:30. You quickly took a shower, dryed your hair, and grabbed your stuff and headed towards your car. You drove over to Luigi's house and parked you car. The party wasn't very full. There was a few toads, a strange professor, a ghost dog, the princess, Mario. Wait... a ghost dog! The princess? Mario!? Whelp three famous people in one house and your friends with one of them. Luigi came out of the kitchen with some snacks.

"Hey guys!" He said. A bunch of voices replied to him. Was it just you or did he have an extra large shadow? The party went on with little to no problems. Everyone sat down at the table and Mario put a pizza box on the table. Every grabbed a slice or two. Peach slid into the kitchen after everyone was done eating and pulled out a huge hotel shaped cake that had the words 'thank you for your bravery'.

"Awe thank you guys!" Luigi said. Mario had the bright idea of sing 'for hes a jolly good fellow' to support his little brother. Luigi took off his hat shyly. You clapped along to the singing but soon you stopped after seen something popping out of Luigi's hair.

"Hey what's that in your hair Luigi?" You asked.

"What is it?" Luigi asked. Mario observed quickly and then jumped into a fighting stance.

"Y/N, everyone, stand behind me." Mario said while changing up his firebrand.

"Okay Mr.L, show yourself." He said. Luigi stood up and then bowed.

"Fine you caught me, but it's not my fault I'm here. Its Luigi's." 'He' said.

"Why are you here then?" Mario asked keeping his firebrand charged. You stepped out in front of Mario.

"Luigi was too shy to ask Y/N to hang out, so he took his old floro sprout to see if it still worked, and what do you know. I'm here. Not like I wanted to be here." Mr.L said blushing slightly. You looked at 'Luigi'.

"You know I'm just as shy, all you had to do was ask." You said. You hugged Luigi. He pulled out his floro sprout.

"Thanks Y/N...I finally have a true friend." Luigi said.

(Hey thanks for the awesome suggestion. It was really really fun to write. I do feel as if Mr.L was really out of character though. I'm used to romance x readers, so this was a bit new to me. Again thanks so much for the suggestion, and see you next time. Bye)
