The first thing Sybil noticed was how humid the air was, she blinked her eyes open a few times before they finally focused on her surroundings. She was in a rain forest by the look of all the strange plants and the large trees, another hint was the fact that she could hear rain hitting the leaves above, though they were too large and closely packed together for her to get wet. Then a thought came to her, how did she get here? The last thing she could remember was that strange guy coming and kidnapping her, she’d called out to Valda but then was knocked out. Was Valda here somewhere too? Sybil felt guilt settle in her mind, if her friend had been kidnapped too then it would be her fault.
The man who’d taken her stepped out of the trees and walked over to her. “So you’re awake. I was beginning to think I had killed you.”
Sybil tried to back away before he could come closer but realized a metal chain was tying her to a tree by her wrists. “Who do you think you are? You can’t just kidnap people you psycho!”
“I am Loki of Asgard, and I will not be insulted by a mere mortal.” He spat. “Now, for the past month I have been checking on a certain energy source. Can you guess who that is?”
Sybil could guess it was her but didn’t want to speak, Loki noticed and continued. “Yes I sensed that you could hold power, lots of power, the only problem is that you are a pathetic mortal.”
“Crazy people… should all be locked up in asylums.” She muttered under her breath and received a kick that sent her crashing to the ground.
“Sybil; meaning prophetess, lets see if that meaning holds true.” Loki took out a syringe and stuck it into Sybil’s arm.
Sybil clenched her jaw shut as cold went through her, she felt as if she was being frozen from the inside out, eventually she couldn’t stop herself and let shivers wrack her body, her lungs felt like they were frozen and she couldn’t breath. Loki stared down at her in disappointment before walking away, another mortal was going to die, none of them accepted the powers, and he had been so sure this one would survive.
Coughing brought him out of his thoughts and he turned around to see Sybil regaining her strength but still too weak to struggle. “Well, well, well. I guess you are powerful… a survivor.”
Sybil lifted up her head to glare at him but her eyes were still unfocused and he knew she wouldn’t be a threat yet. Once she gained her strength back however could be a different story. When she got her strength back she could ether attack him uncontrollably or not know how to attack him, but Loki was sure she would try to attack him, she wasn’t exactly happy when he took her.
“…Hate…you.” Sybil coughed as she closed her eyes and sank back onto the ground.
“I would expect nothing less mortal…” Loki thought about what he said and let out a short laugh, “Though I guess you aren’t a mortal anymore…”
Now he could sit back and continue thinking through his plan. This time he wouldn’t take them out with an army. This time he would kill them all with a single weapon and himself.
