My mouth was numb as the cold water entered. It was refreshing to my dry throat as the peaceful fireflies flew around the pond. I decided to visit the little pond with the colourful tulips again. The place just felt so breathtaking to me.

I sat on the ground with fresh dew on the grass. It was very early in the morning as it was still very dark out, but I couldn't wait for the sun. I snuck out when i knew Ray was definitely asleep. "What are you doing here kid?" Barked the lynx known as Axel. He spoke from behind me as I turned and saw him come out of a bush.

My heart sped up from the sudden scare. "Oh, sorry I didn't see you," I replied calmly. "Reckless," was all I heard him mutter after. It was awkward real quick. "Why are you here boy?" He questioned. It was silent till I bravely gathered the courage to speak. "I came to see the tulips." His eyes darted away from me and to the vibrant colours of tulips, orange, pink and yellow.

He slowly made his way over to a yellow one in the darkness. The fireflies made his body glow in the darkness. "These tulips used to look pretty to me once," he replied mournfully. I saw the change of emotion turn to sad and decided to not ask any questions swirling in my head.

I instead pretended I didn't see his sorrowful eyes staring into the tulips. "Have you ever had some one really close to you?" Asked Axel. I thought about it but couldn't find a answer. "Well just imagine some one very close to you, then, leaving you." Axel was becoming more saddened by the second.

The change in behaviour surprised me. "I.... used to have a mother," my voice cracked trying not to break. My emotions weren't full of sadness like Axel, but of anger and hatred. Axel looked away from the tulips and into my eyes. His frosty blue eyes stared at me as his yellowish-brown fur moved very gently in the wind.

"Kid, I.... I shouldn't have asked I was just curious about yesterday," his tone was full of regret. My eyes stared at him as he quickly moved away from the tulips and sat right in front of me. "How about I show you around the forest?" grinned Axel.

My mind was thinking about if it was a good or bad idea. I can trust Axel enough to go adventuring with him around the forest, Right? Plus, he looks like he can defend himself just fine if we get into trouble out there. I thought about it for a few more seconds finally making my mind up. "Sure," I smiled. It was still dark out, but the sun should rise very soon

I followed Axel as he sped throughout the biome. We jumped over tree roots breaching the surface, we climbed above trees and leapt from branch to branch and jumped over rocks. I could feel the cold soothing air glide against my scales. I love when I get to run around and explore.

Axel suddenly stopped as we stood in front of a massive crack in the ground. It was DEEP! And very wide! My breathing was rough from doing so much running. I looked over to my left expecting to see Axel standing next to me but he was flying through the air to the other side.

My jaw widened as I saw him make this massive five meter jump. I couldn't believe the strength in his legs. "What are you waiting for?" Axel smirked. My heart was screaming, I can't do this i am going to fall! My eyes are wide as I look around for anything to help me get across.

I saw a tree close by not to far with a long branch extending a little bit over the huge fissure. I instantly ran over using my claws in the bark to help me climb up. I slowly make my way along the narrow long branch. One step, two step, three step "WOAH!" I shouted as I wobbled almost losing my balance.

Axel stared at me intensely and trust me that didn't help me get across. 'Cmon Fugi, I can do this, I CAN DO THIS!' I breathed in a huge amount of air and continued my mission along the branch. Now I stood on the very end standing right above the huge drop. My throat got caught in me as the height started spinning me out.

"Hey," Axel spoke. I didn't react to his words as my eyes widened looking down still. "HEY!" Axel bellowed. My gaze tore away from below and towards Axel. "Just look at me Fugi, Okay?" He spoke softly. I felt that if I spoke it would sound shaky so I just nodded my head.

"Okay, just take a deep breath in and out." I followed what he said. We repeated these steps multiple times. Finally I saw him signal me to jump over to him. My heart started thumping again but this time I didn't listen and instead jumped. I felt my legs push of the branch and launch me into the air.

It was petrifying. My blood ran cold but I kept my gaze locked on Axel. I thought I would make it but.... I landed half a meter short. My arms hooked onto the dirt ledge as my body was being brought down. "HELP!!!," I screamed. Axel sprinted towards me and grabbed hold of my arms. "Hang on kid!" He yelled back.

With all my body strength I used my arms to pull and my legs to push of the side, eventually I made it out. I collapsed down frightened to my very core. I was huffing violently as my chest rose and fell. "Well.... you made it," Axel replied.

I was still horrified by the event that just happened. Ten minutes went by when I spoke. "I am NEVER doing THAT again!" I called out. Axel gave me a side glance licking his paw. He briefly stopped to speak. "Let's head back, I think we have had enough exploring." I didn't argue with that....
