I could hear the screams echoing in my head. The painful screams. Tears ran down my scaly face as I started sobbing. I didn't look back once. The voices were slowly being left behind me as I ran. My heart throbbed full of regret and guilt. I just left them like that. Tears just kept pouring as I sprinted my way to home.

The sound of my claws pounding along the floor is loud in my head as I felt the vibration shiver throughout my weak body. Just a few more steps... Soon I saw a small clearing that led to my house. Quickly I jumped at the tree and climbed up, my breath was irregular from panic rising.

'I just left them' was all that floated around in my blank mind. I collapsed onto the floor near my bedding. Tears streamed along my face leaving a path behind. I squinted my eyes closed. I let out a raw pained scream. Emotions draining my tired body. I could feel the darkness starting to cover my sight and soon enough it engulfed me.

The darkness settled all around me. The darkness was calm at first but then became deathly eerie as it became uncomfortable. I sat there for who knows how long criticising my actions of running away in fear. 'I'm a coward, a selfish coward.' I couldn't bear to think about Ray and the look he gave me. It sent chills every time I rethink the moment.

I sighed shakily. My throat threatening to release another wave of sobs. Tears are hiding behind my closed eyes. 'I had to save them. I had to, I have this feeling I need to.' I gathered my emotions and bottled them up for now. When I was in a calm enough state I breathed slowly, the blackness around me slowly disappearing.

When I awoke I was on the floor shivering. I carefully tried standing. My arms shook from the anxiety still in me. I breathed slowly bottling it all up deep within. My arms slowly steadied and I stood up. I breathed out a breath of relief. My eyes still fuzzy from unreleased tears. I lifted my claw and wiped away the blurry vision with the back of my hand.

I then stood near the entrance of the tree and looked out. The sky was darkening. I decided I needed to make a plan. I used that night tinkering in the tree trying to make anything to help. I stayed up all night as I was to restless to sleep. Night drifted by as the forest remained quiet.

Some what early and late at night did I finish my invention. I hid it carefully under my bedding of leaves. I'll use it when I need too. I then bravely walked out of the tree. I slowly crept my way towards my friends homes. It was silent. Too silent. I then heard a grunt of pain ahead of me pass a bush.

I made my way closer hiding behind the plant and peered through it. I saw Axel being dragged by this big nasty dog. It reminded me terribly of the dogs I fought a few weeks ago. Axel looked in bad shape, most likely beaten up. The dog then dropped Axel in front of a tree. It was weird because instead of the hole at the top it was at the bottom.

Axel laid beaten on the ground trying to breathe. My heart ached from seeing such a friend even if he was grumpy in such a state. The dog backed up a little from Axel bowing towards the hole. What's in there? My question was answered quickly as out came this big cat. It was way bigger than Axel but around same size as me.

It was looking at Axel with a glint of hatred in its eyes. "Leave." The dog left. I ducked to avoid being seen from the animal. Once the dog was gone I went back up to watch. "Sooo~ where are the others?" asked the leopard. Axel just spat at his feet. The leopard wiped his paw on the dirt. "WRONG ANSWER!!!" the cat then struck Axel's face leaving a huge gash on his face.

My face full of shock as my eyes widened. Axel didn't even cry or whimper he just stayed laying on the floor as blood leaked out of his wound. The leopard spat down at him and called the dog back. "Make sure he is put alone." "As you wish master Kai." So Kai is his name. I watched as Kai went back into the hole and the dog dragged Axel by his neck away.

I stayed in the bush not to close, scared of being seen. The dog then threw Axel in this other hole in the ground of a tree. I heard a thud. The dog snarled something at him to far away to hear and then sat near the entrance guarding? I should remember this.

These maniac animals weren't killing Axel so what did they want, something about where are the other? As I looked around I heard a cry from another hole guarded not to far from Axel's. It sounded like MINX!!! I rushed over to a bush nearby where I heard Minx. A dog was barking to her from outside. I heard a whimper escape from the tree but then silence came.

I saw many other trees similar with dogs guarding outside. The town must have been kept captive. I searched a little longer memorising the area. That's when I bumped into something small. A small yelp escaped what I hit. My eyes widened and I put my hand over its mouth.

It squirmed in my grasp but when its eyes made contact with mine it stopped. I looked down and gave a reassuring smile. It bounced in my grasp happily but quickly stopped when a dog came dangerously near our bush. "Hey Max! Did you hear that?" Asked a soft voice.

I ducked quickly lowering right on the dirt. "Nah, you just hearing stuff Zoe, like always," laughed a deep voice. I few seconds of silence came but a vicious smack made me wince silently. "OWWWWW!" "Shut up Max before I bite your ear off!" snarled viciously the soft voice.

After what felt like a eternity, footsteps were heard walking away. A breath I didn't know I was holding in was now released. "Did you see that Fugi!" Shouted the small creature. I stared at him and sighed softly.

"Yeah... we should get back Remi to my place, it's to dangerous to be here." "Wait!!! There are others that aren't captured!" He squeaked out quickly. I looked around alarmed by how loud he is but no one came. "Okay lead the way then Remi, quietly!" I whisper yelled at him.
