Ayaan's POV
"Ayaan I think it's high time for you to take responsibilities" Dad told while we were having our morning tea in the study.
"But dad what kind of responsibility do you want me to take?" I asked him confused by his question.
"See Ayaan...it's been 2 years since you've completed your higher education...now I think it's time for you to take over our business." He said after taking a sip of his tea.
"But dad how would I take over without any experience?"
He smiled and replied "I knew you would ask such a question..." to which I gave him a questioning look to which he gave me a smile and continued "Ayaan I will surely give you time to know about our business and how our business operations work but for that you should go to Sri Lanka"
"Why should I go to Sri Lanka? Can't I do it here in India?"
"No Ayaan I want you to start from where I started, you very well know our business was started in Sri Lanka and moreover our Sri Lankan branch now is running under loss, as your first responsibility I want you to find the reason and correct it...without my help...and you don't worry about the time, take all the time you need but do what I told."
"How could I do that alone dad?
and if you already know about the loss then you could have sought it yourself..." I said wondering why dad allowed his business to run in loss knowingly.
"It's simple my dear...I just wanted you to learn through my losses, you will have to face lot of difficulties to bring up the company from the loss and I'm sure you'd face all the difficulties so well and by that time you would have known all what I want you to know, I'll not say that but eventually you would understand..."
"What if I fail to do so?" I asked back
"You are asking that because you are not confident about yourself, in fact if I was in your place I would feel the same...but I trust you ... you could do far better than what you think you can. So tell me are you ready? " He said and gave me a pat in the shoulder.
"Okay dad...but??" I dragged
"But?" Dad asked raising his eyebrows
"No dad... I was thinking about mom, you know...she didn't like me going for abroad for studies and now I literally will have to leave India. So, I was thinking whether if she'd be happy about your decision."
"Oh... Is that why you were bothered... Don't worry I'll handle her alright? "
"Okay then dad I will do...when do you want me to start?"
"Next week ...You should leave to Sri Lanka tomorrow so that you could adjust yourself there and you'll be staying with your sister Ayaana and Jiju(Brother in law)."
"Okay dad then I'll go get the packing done." I said and stood up.
"Yeah you better, I'll book you the tickets and let you know."
**************************************
"What are you saying? He's leaving tomorrow?" I heard Mom asking dad unbelieving what dad told her, while I was about to pass their room.
Look Ayaan Mom is really very angry about dad's decision now, if you get caught to mom...you'll be the next victim so you better get away from here quickly...
I told myself and slowly walked without trying to make any noise... just as I was about to cross my parents room...."Ayaan!"
Damn why do my superstition always be right at the wrong time?
