Zoya's POV

I was standing at the terrace looking out the view of Mumbai city. It looked so calm and quiet unlike in the day time.

"Not sleepy?" Vikram asked as he came and stood beside me.

"Yeah, I slept in the evening right, so I couldn't sleep. Just thought of getting some fresh air." I said

"Acha (Is it), even I came for that. Most of the time, I come and stay here if I don't feel sleepy." He said agreeing with me while I just returned him a smile.

"By the way Zoya, You are not thinking about the guy you met earlier today  right?" He asked with a mischievous grin, while I rolled my eyes at him.

"Vikram! You think this is the time to joke hah?!" I asked.

"No, normally if a girl doesn't feel sleepy and if she comes to the terrace at midnight and stares at the night sky. It is supposed to be that she's thinking about someone in her mind... So-" He said dragging.

"Total Rubbish! That might be in your TV shows okay? I'm not like that." I remarked.

"Okay, Okay, Jokes apart, Shall we talk a bit. An open talk?!" He asked bit seriously.

"Of course, we shall, but tomorrow. Right now I am feeling sleepy." I said and turned to go.

"Zoya, why are you giving excuses when I say I need to talk hah? I very well know that you are not sleepy." He said.

I stopped right there, a took a deep breath and asked, "What is it that you want to talk?"

"You know right! It's about the thing that we discussed that day." He said reminding me.

I sighed knowing that I can't escape from here.

"Okay." I asked as I went and stood near the railing holding it.

"So what's bothering you?" He asked concerned.

I smiled at his question... A dry smile...

"I don't know where to start but let me ask you a question before I start." I said, "Do you trust people?" I asked.

"What kind of a question is that?" He asked puzzled.

"Tell me nah... It is important to know your answer for me to start." I said.

"Not really, I mean not everyone. Only friends and family." He said still confused.

"But you know what I can't trust anyone easily even if I do, I always fear that one day or another they might break that. And most importantly I fear that anyone wouldn't understand me. There's this fear inside me which is eating me up, I don't know how or what made me feel so but it is inside me and I am still clueless of how to fight it." I said staring at the sky, my eyes lightly moistened.

"Zo... Do you trust me?" Vikram asked  placing his hand on my shoulder.

"Of course, If not I would not talk about this at the first place." I assured him.

"You know Vikram,We used to live at our badi papa's house (Dad's elder brother)... We were one happy family. For me, they were like my parents, they had only one child, Hakeem bhaiya. As they didn't have a daughter they always treated me as their daughter. Dad and Badi Papa were very close to each other, I and Hakeem bhaiya were even closer than that, he was my best friend, my mentor and my most caring brother. I was very close to him than anyone else in our home, back then Mama and Papa were very friendly with me and Zaman. Zayan was only two years so he was the pet of the household. Most of the time I end up getting scolded from Mama because I never was responsible back then." I said, a smile playing on my lips as I remembered old days.
