Ayaan's POV
"Good morning sir!" Aakarsh welcomed me once I got off the car at the basement.
"Good Morning Aakarsh." I replied him with a smile.
"What's the need for you to wait here, I called you up to inform that I'll reach office in 5 minutes... But I don't remember telling you to wait in the basement for my arrival?"
I questioned him.
"I know sir, You never told like that... But sir it's my duty to welcome the MD of this company in a very good manner... And sir, Our staff have made some arrangements to welcome you..." He said while he pressed the button of the elevator.
"And sir, I already told the staff members that you'll not like all these but they insisted... " He said before I could ask to which I smiled and said, "That's okay if that's what they want then."
The elevator landed on the first floor of the office... Both of us got off...
"Sir Please stay here, I'll be back in a minute..." He said and hurried into the office while I stood near the elevator... He came back quick as he promised.
"Sorry to leave you like that Sir, I went to inform everyone that you are here..." He said to which I nodded and both of us walked towards the entrance.
As soon as we entered the office, I saw all the staff were present at the reception area.
"Welcome sir!" Said a girl and gave me a bouquet of flowers.
"That was our receptionist Anjali." Aakarsh answered the question which was in my mind.
I walked inside with the bouquet in hand and stood behind the table Aakarsh showed me, another two or three people came and shook hands with me and said "Welcome Sir."
After all that, A couple of people came... One was carrying a cake while the other carried a knife and a flat box which was neatly wrapped. The cake was carefully placed on the table along with the knife...
"Sir this is a small token from all the staff members!" Said the guy giving me the box he was carrying.
"Thank you so much guys for your warm welcome!" I said overwhelmed by their gesture.
"Sir please cut the cake." One of the staff members said.
I cut the cake and fed only Aakarsh as I didn't know others... I told Aakarsh to distribute the cakes among the staff and went to the cabin.
As I entered my cabin there was a dark walnut bookcase lining the entire left-hand wall. There is a leather sofa with a fur rug over the back and an Indian blanket draped over the arm. The far wall had a large fireplace and mantle dominating the center, with bookshelves lining it on either side. On the mantle, there were two antique clocks and a painting of a Beautiful Village. There was a cabinet with some ornaments and some shields placed inside on the right. Hanging on the wall above the the cabinet is an abstract painting of jazz musicians. There is a double door between my desk and the cabinet which leads out to the patio. The view through the door panes is the endless blue sea. This side of the door is my desk. It is a large walnut piece — rather imposing, with glass over the top. Think early 1900s. My chair is Captain style on wheels with leather seat and back. To the left behind me above was an air conditioner with remote on its stand.
The air conditioner was already on which due to which the cabin already felt cool...
I went and sat on the chair, my laptop bag was already placed on the table... I opened it and took my laptop and switched it on... I had finalize some details I need to clarify in the staff meeting.
