Kal walked with his mother into the sickbay on the Challenger. Dr. Selar and Dr. Fox were working with the people injured during the drone incident.

Dr. Fox came over to Bonita, "Good afternoon, Admiral." Kal couldn't help but wonder how a person could be this cheerful all the time.

Bonita answered, "Report?"

"Okay, well, we got all the patients moved here, which wasn't easy with the transporters being out. We recorded four casualties from weapons fire, five others were seriously injured. Fortunately, Dr. Selar could keep the Hospital systems working with a backup generator and the holograms computer system. Her patients were virtually unaffected by the attack or power outage. And, may I say, Admiral, that was one kick-ass move blowing out the conduit."

Bonita said, "I did what was necessary."

Kal asked, "Did you say that only four were lost?"

"Yes, the weapon fire wasn't as powerful as standard Borg weapons, at least what we have on record. She hit several people, but they weren't hurt. Your cute cat man was hit, but he suffered the least of the injuries."

Kal said, "Good. Take me to him."

"Right this way."

Dr. Fox directed both of them to where the patients were recovering. Beds were full and a few people walked around, checking on their friends. Kal immediately saw Sakura standing near Ashi, who was lying on a bed. He rushed over to her and wrapped his arms around her.

"Am I glad to see you're okay. I was worried sick."

She held him as well and said, "We're fine. It was scary, but the worst part was the lights going out."

Ashi said, "Hey, I'm the one who was hurt."

Kal ignored him for the moment and asked Sakura, "what are you doing here?"

"I helped them carry people out. I can see in the dark better than most people."

Ashi feigned a cough and gagged out. "I'm on my deathbed and these two are hugging. I have no brother, I have no sister. This is the end."

Kal finally paid his friend some attention, looking down at the dramatic Hakashan. "You look fine to me."

"Oh, you noticed? It's not like a Borg Drone tried to murder me, threw me across a corridor and slammed me against a wall so hard that I got a concussion. No, I'm just laying here to have a good nap."

Sakura snorted at him, "Oh, shut up."

Bonita came over after speaking with Dr. Selar, "Kalvin...oh, hello Mr. Ashi, Sakura. I'm glad to see you both fared well during this incident."

Ashi held a dramatic hand toward Bonita. "Finally, someone cares how I feel."

"What?" Bonita frowned.

Sakura pinched her brother while Kal addressed his mother. "Nothing. He's fine."

Bonita said, "Sakura, we need your up in the command level, now. There is a lot of information to decode, and you apparently are the best we have."

"My Cardassian friends can help. They're just as good."

Bonita smiled, "Yes, they're already working with our people."

Kal spoke to Ashi. "I need you to come to the conference room with me. I have a special request for you and the others."

Ashi weakly put a hand to his head. "I'll try, if I have the strength." This garnered another pinch from Sakura.

"Come on, you two. We will see you, Mr. Ashi, in a little while." Bonita directed her son and future daughter-in-law out of the room.
