Part 5: Boiling Point

After Y/N's and Kirito's battle, eventually, they found themselves high in the ranks at the sword academy along with Eugeo. They became respected among their peers although some of their fellow students didn't see them as equals, only as lower beings since they came from a peasant town and most students were of royal blood. While this may have proven to get on Kirito's and Eugeo's nerves at time, Y/N couldn't care less. He knew how his skill with a blade was and if anyone wanted to try anything, he would be there to put them in their place, teacher, or student. With his hands swinging by his side, Y/N walked down the hall of the academy, whistling. He had his own room while Eugeo and Kirito had become roommates. Opening the door to his room, he heard the pitter-patter of rain on his window. Taking in a breath, Y/N collapsed onto his couch and sighed into the soft cushions.

"U-Um, welcome back!" A female voice said. Y/N turned to the voice lazily as a black haired female who was far shorter than Y/N but was also slim stood, holding up a silvery tray that had a mug with steaming liquid inside it. 

"Hey, Sera," Y/N said with a soft smile to the girl. She smiled happily as she approached Y/N and handed him the mug which Y/N took a sip of.

"Cider huh? Didn't know it was that year again." Y/N says as he takes another sip.

"I-I noticed how much you liked the cider we normally made when we picked apples so I thought getting you some apples and making you some would be fine..." Sera whispered eyeing Y/N with an anxious glance.

"You don't have to worry so much. It tastes great!" Y/N says with a chuckle. The chuckle from him caused Sera to relax as a happy smile went across her face. Sera had beautiful raven black hair, small freckles on her cheeks, and a pair of ruby colored eyes.

"So, do you get all the chores I asked for done?" Y/N asks.

"Mhm! Kitchen got scrubbed and I vacuumed the living room! Oh, I also scrubbed the bathroom!" Sera says.

"Hey, I thought I told you that was my job." Y/N looked up to Sera who held her mouth.

"I-I'm sorry! It's just, I was so busy in my head, I did it anyway..." Sera says touching her fingers together.

"Don't worry! No harm done. Thank you for cleaning the bathroom." Y/N says which makes Sera smile.

"I'll be heading out to get something from the store so if you need anything, head to Kirito or Eugeo, they should be able to help you with anything you have." Y/N says standing up and finishing his cider.

"Okay! Is there anything you need me to do?" Sera asks as Y/N grabs the door handle.

"Well, don't open the door unless it's me. Two, be ready to train when I get back because I think your style needs some polishing, and three, enjoy yourself." Y/N says with another smile before opening the door and closing it. Sera nodded to herself as she placed the tray down on the table and, going to the kitchen, retrieved the book she had brought with her and started reading. Y/N had gotten his coat on as he looked up and noticed the rain not letting up.

"I hope this let's up soon or else me and Sera are going to have to train in the gym, and I really don't wanna have another argument with those noble pricks." Y/N says running out into the rain. Heading down the cobblestone walk, he approached the blacksmith as he opened the door and closed it quickly. He let out a deep breath as he turned to the blacksmith who was behind the desk.

"Sadore!" Y/N says catching the blacksmith's attention.

"How's it going?" Sadore responds with a grin.

"Nothing much, just picking up my things I ordered along with my sword. It wasn't too damaged was it?" Y/N asks. Sadore shakes his head as he places a clothed object on the counter along with a couple other items.
