Rapunzel's P.O.V.
The week went by slowly. Each class seemed an hour longer than usual. Which was odd because it normally was fast because I actually concentrated. But I kept thinking of Friday. I was going to the most popular guy's house. Jack Frost invited me to go to his house. I could barely believe it.
Tia would kill me if she knew. She doesn't even like other girls talking to him. No wonder Jack doesn't want anyone to know.
At lunch, I absent mindedly ate.
"Hello? Rapunzel? Anybody home?" Merida waved her hand in front of my face.
"Sorry. What?"
She giggled. "So, you cool to hang on Friday?" Merida asked.
"Oh..I uh can't... Friday.." I stammered.
"What are you doin' Friday?"
"Oh... Nothing..." I flustered.
"So let me get this straight. You are doin nothin Friday so you can't hang out."
"Y-yes?"
"You are a terrible liar Rapunzel." She stated.
"Jackfrostneededatutorsoheaskedmeandsoiamgoingtohishousefriday." I blurted.
Merida looked at me. A look that said"say it again. You know no one understood you."
I took a deep breath. "Jack Frost needed a tutor on the math test from Monday, since I got a 100 he asked me to. So I am going to his house Friday."
"Jack Frost?! Wow. Ok you are going to the most popular guy's house Friday. That's cool! So we cool to hang Saturday?" She was grinning ear to ear.
We squealed and laughed.
"Yeah definitely!" I said between laughs.
Friday morning I couldn't sit still. What if I embarrass myself? Or I meet his family and they hate me? Maybe I should cancel... No. I don't want to be the cause of Jack failing math. But what if Jack wants to meet again? What if Toothiana finds out and gets revenge? Last time she got angry at a girl, she was laughed at just when she walked in the door for 4 months! I don't even see her any more. Merida thinks she transferred schools.
All these questions and more kept flooding my mind. Drowning my brain with doubt. My whole body kept fidgeting.
What's wrong with me? Its just another boy to tutor. No big deal.... Right?
*Friday after school*
Right after school I ran home, and upstairs to my room. I grabbed everything I needed to tutor Jack: books, paper, calculator, etc. Then I went over to the mirror that was taller than me. I smoothed my white levi top and flowery skirt. I combed through my long blonde hair. I snatched my grey backpack and skipped back downstairs.
A few blocks away I found Jack's street. I walked until I found it. It was kinda bigger than the other houses and I could barely see a pool in the back. The whole house was a light blue color with a black door. There was a bare tree to the right of their yard which was odd because the rest of the trees just started to loose it's leaves.
I walked up to the door and knocked. The door opeaned and revealed a little girl with brown hair and eyes.
"Hi. Is Jack home?" I asked trying to act cool.
"Yeah. Hold on. JACK!!!" She yelled inside. "He's coming." Then she went inside leaving the door open and left me at the door step.
A moment later Jack ran up to the door. "Hey Rapunzel. Sorry about that. That was my sister, Emma."
"It's okay. She is adorable. Why doesn't she have near white hair like you?"
"Oh it's actually a very light blonde." He smiled. "And I'm the only one. You could say I'm the special one in the family I guess." We laughed.
"Uh. So do you want to come in?" Jack asked gesturing inside.
"Yeah." I walked inside to reveal a large yet comfy home. Most of the house was warm colors but not like how an old lady's house would be like. It gave you a warm sorta feeling. I walked into the living room and looked at the pictures hanging on the wall. All had black frames with complex designs on the sides. There was a brown headed women in one with a kind smile that I assumed was Jack's mother. Next to it, was a man with dark hair and sharp features. He seemed like a man who lived to make people laugh and simply be happy.
Below was Jack, his school pictures probably, with his black jacket as usual and topped with a smirk. Then it was his sister Emma with the cutest smile ever.
Jack walked over next to me. "So... Let's go to the lounge."
"You have a lounge?" I asked.
"Well its basically like a theatre room but my mom calls it the lounge so it seems more "fancy" or something." He explained as we went downstairs to the lounge. It was a comfy room with velvet walls that reminded me of a movie theatre which was fitting because there was a huge flat screen tv and huge comfortable chairs that could fit two people. Behind the chairs was a bar counter complete with chairs. Behind it was only candy, popcorn maker, and soda. I sat up at the counter.
"Do you want a soda?" He asked on the other side. I nodded. "We got grape, orange crush, root beer, vanilla root beer, or creme soda. Or if you prefer there is water."
"Uh...Vanilla root beer please."
Jack pulled out two soda cans as he said"really? I'm the only one out of my friends and family who likes this stuff."
"Me too! Merida thinks it's nasty. She loves regular root beer though." He popped open the cans and slid one towards me. I caught it and took a sip as Jack sat next to me.
"Sooooo.... Lets get started?"
"Yeah! Umm... So the test was on chapter 4 which us split into 6 sections. Which one do you need help on?" I explained.
"Um.... I understand the first section but but not the rest." He confessed.
"Okay. That means we have a lot of work to do. Lets start with section one."
