Jack's P.O.V.

I woke up the next day to my phone ringing.

"Hey."

"Jacky!!" Tia practically yelled.

"Thats me. No need to make me go deaf."

"Sorry Jacky!" She yelled again.

"You did it again Tia."

She quieted down. "Sorry. Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to join the gang later at a party at Bruce's house. Half the school is going to be there."

"What's the occasion?"

"Bruce's parents are out of town for the weekend!"

"Exciting. What time should I come over?"

"Party starts at 5 and it is gonna go late but we need help setting up stuff so come around 4." Tia informed.

"4?" Rapunzel is coming over at 3:30...

"Thats what I said. I'll see ya there Jacky!"

"Actually Tia I-" She hung up.

"Perfect." If I cancel Rapunzel she will think I'm blowing her off. If I don't go to the party, then my reputation of being the coolest guy will start to crumble. Plus my friends will question me and I can't let them find out about the tutor sessions...

I'll have to figure something out.

I got ready for the day and sprinted down the stairs. I snatched an apple from a fruit basket, and went over to the front door.

"Jack!" My mom yelled.

"Yeah?"

"Where are you going?" She came into the room.

"To a friend's."

"What friend?" She questioned.

"You know... One of my friends..." I stammered. I was planning on talking to Rapunzel...

"Come on Jack. Your math teacher called." She crossed her arms.

"What!"

"63% Jack. He said he was concerned you wouldn't take tutoring seriously. He thinks you haven't been having tutoring sessions." She lectured.

"I promise mom. I had a tutoring session yesterday while you were out with your friend."

"Yes like the time you said you would pick up your sister from her sleepover?"

"I forgot?" Oh boy. I'm in trouble.

"You forgot?! She waited there for an hour! In the rain! Jack, how can I trust you to actually meet with a tutor?"

I paused. "What if she comes over?" I suggested. Then immediately regretted it.

"She? Who is this she?" Oh no. She is going all loving gossipy mother on me.

"Just a girl mom."

"Fine. But she is coming over to dinner tomorrow!" With that final word, she left the room. I opened the door to leave when she yelled, "Jack! You are grounded by the way till I know this girl is really tutoring you! A failing grade doesn't pass unnoticed."

I slowly shut the door and went back upstairs.
