"Jimin-ah, it's time for dinner!!! Go get your brother!!!" Jimin's mom had shouted from the kitchen.
"Ok, mom!!" Jimin shouted from his bedroom, standing up from his bed that he had been sitting on, playing some random game on his phone.
Standing up, Jimin had started walking towards his brother's bedroom door, knocking against the hardwood.
He didn't want to be rude.
"Yeah?" Jimin heard from the other side of the door, faint voice making it past the confines of the door.
"It's time for dinner, come on. Mom said." Jimin replied, backing away from the door and heading towards the kitchen, already smelling the comforts of tonight's dinner.
"She must be making something good." Jimin thought to himself.
He'd padded out to the kitchen, hardwood floor making his feet cold.
Upon entering the kitchen, Jimin noticed the t.v. on, his dad sitting at the table drinking coffee, and his mom drying a metal bowl she'd used to make pancakes.
Jimin had taken a seat, noticing the small stack of pancakes on the plate that sat perfectly still on the wooden table.
"What's on t.v.?" Jimin questioned, grabbingbthe nearby bottle of syrup, pouring a steady stream of the sweet substance onto his double stacked pancakes.
"Oh, nothing much. Just the morning news. Nothing we don't already know, sweetie. Now eat your pancakes before they get cold." His mother stated, putting away the metal bowl she'd just finished drying.
"Hey, Jimin hon-" Jimin's mom began before the t.v. had started blaring an obnoxious noise, red thick stripe taped across the screen, signalling that an important message was about to be stated.
"Attention. Due to unforeseen circumstances, all families must line up in a row outside. This is not a drill. All families must line up in a row outside" The t.v. blurted out, noise not ceasing to stop.
"What's going on?" Jimin asked, looking at his mother with worry.
"I don't know honey. Hurry and get your brother, we'll be waiting outside. Go quick." His mom said, switching off the t.v. and ushering herself and her husband outside.
"Jihyun. Come on, we have to go outside." Jimin said as he'd raced to his brothers bedroom door, opening to find his brother listening to music with both earbuds in.
Jimin moved his hands up to Jihyun's ears and removed them, telling him what was going on.
"Jihyun, come on!!! We have to go outside, now!!!!" Jimin yelled, urging his brother to move faster so they could meet their parents outside.
"W-whats going on?" Jihyun questioned, fear beginning to build up in his eyes as they'd stared directly into Jimin's.
"We don't know. We just have to go outside and line up. Let's go, their waiting for us!!!!" Jimin yelled, grabbing Jihyun by the arm and tugging him to the front door.
As they'd stepped outside, they saw all of their neighbors, lined up in rows from their fathers to the youngest.
Standing in line with their families, they'd noticed military men in suits, setting up stations of who knows what at the end of the road.
Watching everything and everyone, Jimin noticed two soldiers making their rounds across all families lined up outside.
"What're they going to do?" Jimin heard as Jihyun questioned, watching the men revolving closer to them, expressions never changing.
It looked like the main man talking had a clipboard, writing down unknown information.
"I don't know..." Jimin stated, breaking the quiet chatter that was filling the street.
As soon as he'd said that, the men had used megaphones to speak.
"Listen everyone. There is going to be an attack and we're lining you up in order, so line up according to age and gender." The man stated, voice booming through the megaphone.
So they had all began lining up starting with the oldest men first, then women, moving on to the children.
When the time had come for the children to line up in their respective lines, Jihyun lightly tugged on Jimin's long sleeve shirt, gaining his attention.
"What is it?" Jimin asked, eyes landing on Jihyun's sad face.
"I-I left my stuffed tiger back in my room..." Jihyun had answered, tears rolling down his pale cheeks.
"I'll go get it. You stay here. Go and line up. I'll be back soon." Jimin had told him, turning around to walk back into their house, go get Jihyun's stuffed animal.
As soon as he'd stepped back inside the now empty house, he'd made his way to Jihyun's bedroom, opening the door.
Upon opening the door, Jimin quickly glanced around the room, eyes searching for the toy.
As soon as he'd found it, he quickly approached it, picking it up and heading back to the front door.
But as he'd opened the front door, he'd seen the men entering the bus, people already inside.
Jihyun was already on the bus.
Jimin's eyes teared up, realizing he had no chance of keeping up whilst running, but he tried his best.
As the bus took off, Jimin began jogging, slowly morphing into running as he'd tried catching up, tears trailing down his cheeks as his legs were burning and he came to a stop, lungs aching from oxygen deficiency.
He began to bawl as the bus was no longer in sight, already gone.
So Jimin decided that he'd go back inside, pack his backpack and go after them.
But after a few minutes of him packing his backpack, he'd noticed that the sky had gotten brighter.
Way too bright to be the sun.
So he'd looked up and realized the missile had been already launched by the enemy.
His fear had skyrocketed as he'd remembered they had a small shelter underground, so he'd hurried to it and opened the front doors, latching them shut as he'd stepped inside, turning the light on.
He'd been left in the dust.
He knew they would risk his life to save others', so there was no chance they would turn back around.
Stepping further down the stairs into the fallout shelter, Jimin heard the light whistle of the missile approaching closer and closer.
Until he'd heard a loud bang, and felt an Earth shattering shake, making him fall to the ground.
He knew it would be a while until he could go back up.
