As soon as Jimin turned to his left, he'd seen a dead, giant cockroach that looked like it was going to approach him, until he'd heard a blaring sound of a gun shooting, protecting him.
He was immediately grateful that Jeon had shot it, even directly by his side.
Jimin had been completely shocked once he'd seen just how huge the disgusting creature was, hoping that no other bug or critter was as big as this one, but he couldn't hold his hope to it for the sake of possibly seeing another one so huge, so he just cleared his through and said "H-how many of those... bugs are like that?".
He had then looked directly back at the mysterious man's face, looking straight into his stone cold eyes and watching his eyebrows crease and face contort into disbelief, hoping the newbie in front of him did know at least something about the current world he was in, and not just going by what he'd seen from before everything had started.
"Seriously?" Was all he'd said before scoffing and turning around before turning his head and saying, "Your in for a wild ride, my friend." And turning back and walking straight back into the building to gather everything.
"What? Really? Why can't he just tell me?" Jimin said quietly to himself, hoping the other man hadn't had amazing gearing.
But that was cut short before he'd heard the man shouting, "BECAUSE YOU NEED TO LEARN THINGS FOR YOURSELF." Afterwards going eerily quiet for a while.
'Geez, how did he hear that? He's literally on the other side of the wall, and I said that so quiet.' Jimin thought to himself before following suit, and going back inside, careful to avoid any and all debris and broken glass on the floor, dust floating in the air all around as he walking on.
"Hey Park." He had heard the man say while he was gathering his things and stuff them into his bag, crouched on the ground, not minding any broken glass or small pieces of debris on the ground that could possibly injure him or wear down his clothes in any way.
Jimin's attention turned straight to the man crouched on the ground, looking ready to book it out of the broken down, dilapidated building.
"What?" Jimin replied, voice sound a bit sad and vocal cords wavering.
"Get your stuff ready. We'll be leaving in a few days." His voice sounded firm and stiff, like he was the one taking charge and making all the decisions. Jimin was not having that. His family is somewhere out there, scared and nodding his help.
And he was not about to let this stoic man ruin his plans of finding and reuniting with his parents, so he gathered all of his courage and approached the man slowly, taking staggered steps before feeling confident and speaking up.
"Mister Jeon. I hate to burst your bubble here, but my family is out there. Their lives are on the line and they need me, so I don't care what you say, but we need to leave today, because it's going to take a few days before we reach them. So we're leaving today. That's that. End of story." By the time he'd finished his mini preaching session, he had cowered, lowering his head and shoulders, immediately feeling small under the sharp gaze of the man's eyes raking over him.
"Park. You do not, and I repeat, you do not tell me what or what not we are doing. Because in the end of things, you will need me since you have no idea about how to reach that goddamn place. Especially because you gave no weapon or gun. So you have no say over when and what time we are leaving. Hell, you can't even stand there without talking to me and cower after saying those kinds of things to me. So don't ever think of doing that kind of thing again. Especially with me. Because if you do, I will not hesitate to put you in harm's way. I don't care if your somewhat cute or helpless. I will do what will give me the upper hand in any situation. So go sit your sorry ass down and do as I say. And don't speak unless I say or ask something." The man stated, voice becoming authoritative.
By the end of the speech Jeon had given him, he had been shaken, heart stammering in his chest with fear or how the man sounded and mostly because of what the man had said he would do if Jimin didn't sit back and do as he was told.
So in fear of speaking up again, he quickly went to his previous spot on the floor where he had slept, cautiously avoiding the broken glass and metal parts jutting out from various spots and places on the broken, damaged metal shelves one filled with various goods and treasures that everyone had taken advantage of.
Even just thinking about the past had brought sadness and tears to his eyes, the reoccurring thought of watching his brother through the back of the bus coming back into play.
This time, he had decided to just let out his tears, thinking that if he just let them come out, it would ease the heavy burden that had been sticking to his already heavy chest and shoulders.
But alas that didn't really hold much to it, because when he began letting out his tears while slowly crouching down to lay on the floor once more, more tears came out, along with the ever constant thought of hearing the loud whistle of the missile and booming sound it made once it made contact with the ground and the state of mind that he would probably never get to them.
At least, not with how this man had just shot him down.
But he thought better of it with the pressing thought of the man actually saying he would help Jimin, even with how much of a dick he was and how much of an asshole he sounded, had actually helped his mental state a tad bit.
Though he dare not show his present state to the man, making him think he was weak, because he wasn't.
So he decided then and there to just sit down and shut up for a bit until Jeon would say when and what time they would be leaving.
